samsun,

The v1 heads, for that matter the complete v1 VN, were problematic for a lot of folks... Muted flavors were reported by most people and a lot of QC issues with the heads caused them to give dry or hot hits. Some also reported they worked ok but only were a bit muted. In short, some of your v1 heads may work ok but they probably won't be excellent... The heads can be rebuilt with new wick and wire and several reported good success with doing that... so I'd suggest to not throw them out, set them aside for a time that you feel crafty and rebuild the heads as spares for later.

The v1 tube assembly using the v2.5 heads works pretty well compared to using the v1 heads but there is a good chance it may leak if left on it's side. I also found that on mine, the flavor was a bit muted compared to the all v2.5 VN but it wasn't a lot so it makes a it good vaporizer for the house ( due to the minor leaking ) or a good backup.

Oy, Samsun, I'm sorry about that spider... I'd probably freak too. I don't mind regular spiders, I leave them be because they get rid of flying critters in the house. But last night I was what I think was a brown recluse, and that really upset me.

About v1 heads... If you got v2.5 heads, I'd say forget about v1s, if they are giving you a hard time. Cutting the wicks, on the new ones, is a matter of taste, literally. Try them long, first, and see if that's good for you. Just don't forget to hold the PV tilted for good wicking...

Thank you all so much for all the suggestions, I know you have probably had to answer so many questions all the time so I really appreciate the help. I ended up taking it apart, I thought mybee I had not ...

My v. 2.5 heads work fine on my v1 nova tank...

YMMV some folks reported a small gap between the top of the head and the cap which could let it leak if layed over. mine might be in the same boat idk yet as i'm short a tube. since its a mass produced item there are bound to be some minor variances here and there specially when it comes to the plastic tube.

in fact holding the v1 tube next to my new v2.5 the v1 tube is just a tiny hair longer....

I was easily able to get rid of my gap by moving the silicone tube seal up... but it either doesn't seal well or because there it now a bigger gap at the slots for the wick, it floods through there ... If you don't move the seal up, you also get vapor into the tank area.

The very best way to fix a version 1 ViVi Nova is by buying a version 2 ViVi Nova. Just saying...

Agreed...

I received my first v2.5 on Friday and tried it out... GV then opened up the limit on the special priced heads to 3 per ohm... I then ordered yet another v2.5 as well as 9 more heads ( got 3 additional heads with the first order specifically for the v1 VN )

I'll likely add another 2 of the v2.5 VN's to my hardware... and hopefully they will release the new Stardusts soon so I can have a whole bunch of those for some of the juices I don't vape as much of.

The old v1 VN... is now a backup to only be used at the house.

Thanks again everyone, I do not throw anything vape related away, so know problem there. I did see the vidieo RockinRobbie put up on re-wicking and re-wiring so maybee some day I will give it a try. I will wash out the
V2 tonight and give that one a try.
Robby, I never heard of a Wolf spider before, I will have hubby or son google it to see if it looks the same.

Briar that is scary, I remember years ago reading an article about them in Reader's Digest, I had not heard of them before they were talking about someone in Conneticut that had gotten bit and did not know it at the time. He lived but I think they may be able to kill. Since the beggining of the spring it seems like every time I turn around there is a spider, I have never seen so many. One time in the shower, facing the water spray I turn around and there is a spider hanging from a peice of web from the cieling right in front of my face a little higher up. I deal with a lot of pain as is so I did not jump out of shower like I would have if I could, I did get out and yelled for hubby and he killed it.
Next spider- I just got up in the morning was in the kitchen getting a coffee, I reached over on the counter to get a paper towel and as I did a spider falls right by my hand from up under the cupboard ( started screaming ).
Next spider- I am in the passenger seat of car hubby driving, going to Boston to vist daughter. I am sitting there drinking my coffee and vaping enjoying the ride. Air conditioner is on ( all the time know matter where I am  major hot flashes lol) I see a movment on my window right next to me ( tiny care Toyota Matrix, know where for me to go ) I start screaming and scare the you know what out of hubby. Of course we are on the highway, so what does my husband do as soon as he sees it, he starts to open my window OMG, are you crazyyyyyyyyy I scream the spider will end up blowing right off the window into me. I swear I could have killed him ( know not the spider ). So he leaves the window alone and the spider walks down to the bottom corner of the window were there is this black rubber and goes into the little nook there. I had to sit there for a good 15 minutes with this little black hairy spider coming out and then going back in his little nook the whole time. Fun ride.
Next spider, Is the huge one in the freezer, when my son came over he took the pan out and look at it and he went OMG I have never seen a spider that big. Someone Please Tell Me That Seeing Spider's has some kind of meaning. Like you know maybee I will be coming into money. PLEASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Samsun your story reminds me of a time my wife was downstair on couch with the light off watching TV.
I heard a noise and came downstairs, she was saying i think a spider fell from the ceiling i said aw c'mon .
All of a sudden she started jumping up and down freaking out , then she looked at me and i was cracking up i said what wrong with you .
She started crying cause we did find a wolf spider next to her on couch as when she was swiping on her shoulder she must killed it and it was all curled up dead next to her.
I felt tiny after that moment and consoled her as best i could cause she was quite mad at me for laughing but heh at that particular moment it what was funny as heck .
We later figured out it probably fell out the ceiling heat/ac vent thats directly above the couch.
Im not afraid much of anything but i admite them wofl spiders are hairy and big.

Were getting way off topic but I have to relate this tale..many years ago i was in texas and my job at the time was a door to door salesman. I was invited into a woman's home and was at her kitchen table...I noticed she has what looked like a skin graft on her wrist and part of her hand..she noticed me looking and I was embarrassed..but she didn't care and told me she was bitten by a brown recluse spider some years ago and thats what their bites do. 2 seconds later a pretty large nasty spider comes out of the ceiling fan and starts lowering itself to the table..the lady jumps and starts screaming OH MY GOD! its a female brown recluse spider...KILL IT KILL IT..she handed me a roll of paper towels and I killed it...I inspected it and sure enough it was a brown recluse...True story. why it came out of the ceiling fan while we were at the table I dont know..strange..they really like that lady or something :p

is the base of the 2.5 any different from v1? my v1 is very difficult to attach to any of my 510 units. also i trimmed the wicks up now i get better vape out of it after i leave it on its side for about 5 min...

Yes, they improved the center post. I dunno where the air holes sit on v1, I know on v2 they are on the textured bottom ring, on v2.5 they are on the bottom post (for a less airy draw). As you found out, you can just center the post down a lil and it'll work great.

With just water? I'd like to find a use for my ultrasonic cleaner... I'm pretty convinced that it worsens the cracks in the Stardusts, so I haven't been using it.

Water...yes. I haven't noticed it having an effect on the cracks....clean stardust in it all the time.
