So if I am reading this right the Kick and other VW devices is I want 6 Watts of power at the coil and it does the rest for me regardless of battery and resistance of my cart or clearomizer? So at that point all I need to know is juice A is awesome at 6.5 and B is awesome at 7.2 and the only adjustment I need to make is to the VW and I can use whatever OHM coils I want?

The only concern I can think of is the resistance already being to high or low to correct it?

Correct... select wattage and vape ... the circuit worries about getting it to the wattage you select.

You are correct that you'd select a resistance within a certain range... but the common vaporizers are already within that range. The Kick has a wattage range of 5-10 watts... VV also have limitations usually around 2.5a or so of current ( amps ). There are people that have a high wattage preference ( over 10w ) and obviously for these something like a Provari is going to be just about their only choice since most of the cheaper VV devices also won't reach their desired wattage range.

Sounds good I am pretty close and pretty satisfied with what I have now. I get home tomorrow to 2 new 2.5 Vivi's so I will rock the 1.8s which should be around 7 Watts which I think I am around 6.8 so should be some tasty stuff as everything I have so far has been pretty awesome.

Thanks for the help! I may do a box mod or check out the Kick when I get into DIY though just so I know what I like the best as far as taste and setup.

SO ...I came over to see what you guys were talkin' about ...
I just got a ViVi Nova a few days ago ..loving it !
& as I read the page I realized that I did not even check to see which head was installed I just changed the tank & filled it up & vaped ....
so I went & checked & I have a 2.8 a 1.8 in box so I must be using the 2.4 .

And here comes my actual question :D

Why does the 2.8 have 1 wick & the 1.8 have 4 wicks ?
Opened tank & that one has 4 also. :glare:
Not that I really care as long as they work, was just wondering ??
I ordered extra 2.8's & they have 1 wick also .

*edit ooops I mean 1 fat wick or 4 skinny wicks

some of the 2.8 heads are from the v2 through the v2.5, i asked for some to be tested with one fatter wick, they added some in with the 2.8 heads so while you should all get the long wick with either many strands or one thick one those are all fine and in there might be a few short wicked one. which also work just fine.

Bad, just a note. I was getting some slightly burned hits with the 2.8ohm head.. I couldnt chain vape. 2nd hit, slightly burnt, 3rd hit very burnt. Again I'm all VG long wicks, uncut.

I had to unwind the fat wick on the 2.8 head. Also adjusted the coil more to the center. It was pretty close to the white wrapper around it. Once those two adjustments were made its back to wicking and working fine.

My take... use the same wick setup for the 2.8 heads as the others use.

Will there be higher ohm coils for us VV folks?

I figured it would be something like that ....

Getting some burnt hits as well on 2.8, even though my wick is spread out (happened when I was putting it in, didn't want to dump the tank so it took a while). Was only vaping at 4v.

Also bad, do you know if they have fixed the ohm issue? I've seen in dozens of video reviews that the heads can be up to 0.6 ohms above or below their target. The iTaste doesn't display ohms, so I can't determine it myself :(.

None of my heads metered in at what they was supposed to be when I first got them. The 1.8 metered at 2.3 but after vaping 1/2 tank I rechecked it and it metered at 1.9 :)

Same thing with the 2.8 head. Before use it metered at 3.6. After 1/2 tank it metered at 3.3..after a full tank it metered at 2.9.

I think someone mentioned before that the coils will tighten as you use it and the ohms will fall into range. All part of the break in period.

I love my vivi the way it is. I was just wondering how short you guys are cutting the wicks? Maybe a pic? I think for my mtn dew incident last nite I may ruined the 2.4 head the little rubber sleeve came off and not sure how to put it back on the little metal ring came out too. Is it a goner?

If you want to cut the wicks, cut so they are just touching the walls of the tank, or a little longer.

As for your "dogged" head - it sounds like it should be fine. It's the white rubbery "hat" that came off, right? And the little metal doohickey inside it that fell out?

On the iTaste hold both buttons down and it will give you the ohm rating and then the recommended voltage. Comparing to meter the ohm rating appears to be .5 to 1Ω high. (using Extech autoranging - zeroed).

I started a 2.8Ω head (1 lg wick) yesterday and after 3 or 4 tanks it's metering at 2.9Ω. On the iTaste, it reads 3.5Ω. Although it works, it's not as accurate on the ohm check as a meter.

I normally use a swithching regular box with 2x14500 (going back to a 10sec timer was frustrating), but after 20 draws on the iTaste I'm not getting any dry/burned hits and am getting good vapor. No changes to the wick - just straight out of the box.

OK, no prob. See how the little metal doohickey is completely flat on one side? Put it into the rubbery "hat" so that that flat side points towards the open end. When you put it back onto the post with the coil, it will end up face-down.

Don't worry about it squishing all the way to the bottom of the hat - it will straighten itself out.

Now put the hat back onto the post. Push it all the way down. There is a stop on the post, so it won't go down too far or anything, just make sure it's all the way down to the stop.

Voila. All done. :)

That appears to be what I'm seeing too.
