That and there simply isnt enough room inside the Vivi to make the coil as large as we are talking about. Plus I'm not sure if its appropriate to get into rebuilding their products in their thread. I may be wrong.
4 ohms would be overdoing it and you would need about 7-8 volts to push it properly. 3.2-3.4 ohm coils would be awesome imo. Btw my Vivi is still going strong, tasting clean and makin plumes....love this thing!
To get 10 watts of power on a 4 ohm vaporizor... you would only need 6.325 volts. Up to now, the max watts I liked ( on lower resistance vaporizers ) has only been up to 8-9 watts at most.
Yeah I guess so...that's a weak vape for me though. I shoulda said "I" would need 7-8 volts.
Hey.... I came over here because they told me there would be no math.... brain hurt now.... go find pill...
Guys earlier in the thread where we discussed the v1 issues at length there was a ton of discussion and trading info on rebuilding the vivi heads. Frankly, the discussion probably (and bad or danno can correct me if Im wrong) led to some of the improvements we are all enjoying with the vivi now.
Fact is the heads are rebuildable and even discussed/promoted as such so imo its not an off topic discussion at all. Now me personally, I can follow the whole idea but I dont get into rebuilding my attys. Im the kind of customer GV loves. My attys die, I buy more... lol.
I didn't think that it was inappropriate here - I posted jokingly. Actually rebuilding an atty/clearo is considered modding and that's come up here I believe - there is also a vivi thread in the modding section. I take this thread to be all things vivi 2.5 so it seems a fit for me. Anyway, the pills are working fine!
Sorry for bringing in the re-build part but what I do want to say is there are no 3-4 OHM coils so why not build your own... at least til the new ones come out. That and of course it is advertised as a rebuild-able so you should all at least buy 1!!!
I have ran 3-4 runs though each tank about on stock heads and besides the dry hit (Unless I tip it up) they are awesome. No leaks and look great. Are they perfect? No but with a little work they can be. I think I am gonna get away from carts full time and get 2-3 more of these. They are just that good.
Guys, if talking about how to rebuild or mod cartos or heads was off-topic on this sub-forum, half of the product discussions around here would be off-topic. Seriously. Up until we got to v2 discussion in this thread alone, I'd guess fully a third of posts was about rebuilding the heads.
Re-wicking Stardusts was also discussed extensively.
It comes up, discussions, theories, directions and videos get posted regularly, and not once did I see Bad or Danno object. In fact I've seen Bad get involved in these. I suspect Bad is a not-so-in-the-closet tinkerer.
Granted, the need for all the tinkering with cartos is drastically decreasing as more and more really good products are coming out, but I honestly don't believe such discussions are off-topic here.
Of course, Danno and Bad will correct me if I'm wrong - but that's just what I observed around here. And it makes this forum more exciting and interesting for some of us, I'm sure. I like reading about it, though I don't do it, myself. Not much, anyway. I modded Fluxos, of course, and I tinkered some with VEs (didn't like the tips), but I'm not a tinkerer... I am pathologically curious, though.
P.S. I don't hang out on the modders forum, since I don't really mod, so I rather enjoy reading about it here, especially since I only buy hardware from GV, with very few exceptions - those exceptions mostly having to do with picking up an occasional Stardust along with a juice order. Well, I also drool about those really expensive wooden custom mods - but, firstly, I can't afford them, and secondly, GV doesn't carry them, so no "disloyalty" involved... LOL
And, btw, if there was a wooden VV that was not a squonker, but just a VV batt on top of which I could stick my Stardusts, I'd be hard-put not to buy one, expensive or not - hey, maybe Chinese will make it, and GV will carry it, some day.I just really like wood. It's pretty. Now this really is off-topic in this thread.

I'm new to this thread, so my assumptions that teaching people how to get around spending money on a vendors product in the vendors forum, may be wrong. I just thought it was courteous. I will be the first to admit if I'm wrong, and if the site owners are taking part in these conversations then clearly I'm wrong.
Oh, as far as the wood VV thing goes, just because a PV is a bottom feeder doesn't mean it has to be used as a bottom feeder. They have 510 connections on top and as such any accessory can be used on them. I had a Phidias bottom feeder and I kept a tank on top of it at all times and never put a juice bottle inside it. Its actually a plus due to the size and weight of a wood PV the tanks feel better balanced on top of them, IMO.
If I understand what you are saying about reducing battery consumption ( and I'm not trying to put words in your mouth so correct me if I'm wrong or have misunderstood you )... it is about reducing the amperage load. Then this is the same reason that LR is being used on a VV or VW device... using a lower resistance vaporizer again drops the amp load which conserves the battery while still producing the same wattage that using higher voltage and higher resistance vaporizer does.
