Actually, low resistance increases the amp load when used at the same watts.
2.0Ω atty at 8.0 watts draws 2.0 amps.
3.0Ω atty at 8.0 watts draws 1.63 amps.

I stand corrected... funny thing is I know that one so there was no good excuse for my error... ah, got one, senility

You are absolutely correct. Lower resistance does increase the amps used, and will drain a battery faster. Many people can't use a LR atty on a standard eGo because the battery life is abysmal.

No biggie. I've tried to figure out for years whether or not my batteries last longer using LR or SR atty's. I've come to the conclusion ...... just change the damn battery!!!

Joking, or not... this is another true statement! Pete54 is on the ball today! GO PETE!!!

I've seen many people spend $100 in different attys/cartos/items, while trying to preserve a $20 battery. Honestly, if you are looking to improve your vape, it may be the battery/AVP/mod that you've outgrown, and not the clearomizer. Sometimes, the larger investment is the wiser one. :D

Good post Briar. Danno and Bad are perfectly capable of policing their own site, and doing it without offending anyone or creating an extended debate. :)

All of their sites have always been open to new ideas on how to improve the performance of any of their product which has including quite a bit of amateur modding.

Guys, if talking about how to rebuild or mod cartos or heads was off-topic on this sub-forum, half of the product discussions around here would be off-topic. Seriously. Up until we got to v2 discussion in this thread alone, I'd guess fully a third of posts was about rebuilding the heads.

Re-wicking Stardusts was also discussed extensively.

It comes up, discussions, theories, directions and videos get posted regularly, and not once did I see Bad or Danno object. In fact I've seen Bad get involved in these. I suspect Bad is a not-so-in-the-closet tinkerer. :D

Granted, the need for all the tinkering with cartos is drastically decreasing as more and more really good products are coming out, but I honestly don't believe such discussions are off-topic here.

Of course, Danno and Bad will correct me if I'm wrong - but that's just what I observed around here. And it makes this forum more exciting and interesting for some of us, I'm sure. I like reading about it, though I don't do it, myself. Not much, anyway. I modded Fluxos, of course, and I tinkered some with VEs (didn't like the tips), but I'm not a tinkerer... I am pathologically curious, though. :D

P.S. I don't hang out on the modders forum, since I don't really mod, so I rather enjoy reading about it here, especially since I only buy hardware from GV, with very few exceptions - those exceptions mostly having to do with picking up an occasional Stardust along with a juice order. Well, I also drool about those really expensive wooden custom mods - but, firstly, I can't afford them, and secondly, GV doesn't carry them, so no "disloyalty" involved... LOL

And, btw, if there was a wooden VV that was not a squonker, but just a VV batt on top of which I could stick my Stardusts, I'd be hard-put not to buy one, expensive or not - hey, maybe Chinese will make it, and GV will carry it, some day. :) I just really like wood. It's pretty. Now this really is off-topic in this thread. :)

you are more then free to mod here, you are free to disucss issues here, you are free to openly discuss recoiling them, if the product opens itself up to that then so be it, i cant get into that discussion to deeply because then i would be breaking a rule of respect form the people im buying from but even then, if the product lends itself for modding then why not.in the old ce2 alongside br,v1john, zoid, banjo, navathian and many others we where modding the ce2 into many things and the first of its kind 25 cent tank. The modding helps people learn.

At the same time certain factories might not like seeing people clean the same item for months and months but that sentiment has slowly changed as now we see products you can rebuild or change out heads. If the product is good people will buy them regardless of how you can mod it or extend its life. In the real world though items like filler cartos and ce2's are meant as disposable products, when you use them for a few days you throw them away and open a fresh one, just like a regular customer does when they buy stick style carto packs. We at ecf are more evolved then your typical customer and want to learn how to mod, clean, extend, build etc... and thats fantastic

thats what ecf is about as well so thats all cool as long as we also keep in mind certain products that are for the general product meant to disposable, this obviously doesnt apply to dct tank or raven, vivi, rebuildable stardusts etc.., because they are tanks but it applies to the carto or head inside of them which you eventually replace but if you have the know how on how to clean and extend them then thats great and here at gotvapes we have been free and open on the subject ever since we opened.

The only thing we frown on here at gotvapes is bad attitudes, trolling and rude bahvior, other then that, have a ball, speak freely, help each other ans share your tips, your modding can lead to new and exciting products.

many feared if they discuss this china would make it harder to mod, but that worry has been proven false and you can still mod all vivi heads. The discussions we have here help us improve and help us with info to take back to the factories.
at the same time lets be watchful as well, while you can freely mod you stuff, its yours you bought it, lets remember that they still need to sell these products but we are also aware not everyone wnats to mod, some people use the product and when its done, they might clean it once or twice and move on to a new one and thats all good as well.

I Purchased 2 each GotVapes Vision ViVi Nova, 3.5 ml V2.5 Rebuildable Tanks from Got Vapes on Friday 29 June 2012 and Received them on 2 July 2012. They cost 14.95 each and shipping was 2.52, Texas Sales Tax was 2.24, Discount for Newsletter was (1.50) for a total of $33.16. About $16.58 each, drive out.

Very pretty and well designed presentation box for each one. In the box was a complete tank and two atty's. I tested all atty's on my VMax for ohms and got the 2.8, 2.6, 2.6, 2.5, 2.3 and 2.0.
On the sight it said I would get for each tank, 1.8, 2.4 and 2.8. I believe that one of the boxes did not get a 1.8 +/- .2 ohm atty. Not too much a problem as the 2.8 works adequately on the eGo 1100 my wife and I use.
I inspected each setup and they appeared clean and dry.

I assembled my tank with a 2.6 atty and run 4.0 volts showing on my Vmax. Good vapor production, low throat hit, which is the way I like it, and a slightly muted flavor. I use a 3 ml DCT Tank with a2.5 ohm DCT single hole cart before today. I used my favorite juice, Primo from All About Vapor.

On my wife's eGo I set the tank up with a 2.3 atty. My wife said that she does not notice a flavor difference and that the vapor seems thicker and warmer. The amount of "smoke" is about the same. She uses a 1.6 oohm DCT cart in a DCT 3 ml Tank. She used Sweeter Mint from All About Vapor.

The tanks sat for about 3 minutes before be used after they were filled with juice, 3 ml.

I did notice that if the atty is not firmly seated on the center post that it misaligned with the cap.

As the day s go by I hope that this purchase is the beginning of the end of my search for equipment to use vaping.

I have backups upon back ups. Each in there time was a great purchased that was well researched.

I am looking for ease of use, ease of filling, ease of cleaning, ease of tatty change and compatibility with my existing battery systems. I think I got it this time and am looking forward to being proven correct.

Briar, I am right with ya on your last two posts. I am also innately curious and love the discussion and knowledge from a conceptual standpoint cause I can put it all together in my head very easily... when it comes to tinkering... I keep it simple and building coils isnt an avenue I wanna go down, but I do want to know how. Im a buyer, not a builder. I have my hands full learning how to make ejuice anyways, and enjoy that more. The savings on that allows me to buy some nice equipment for my PV'S.

Bad thanks for clarifying on topics. I figured that was how you felt as Ive followed this thread from square one... every post.

And yep, Pete54 was spot on. Now the vmax has a 5amp limit, so if Im correct it can actually push up to 24watts.. I think. Not that I want to go that high of course. However I do want to run higher ohm atties for flavor benefit and also lower power drain. Simple solution is yeah... change batteries. Over time tho more battery cycles shortens battery life too so Id rather get max time and distance out if my gear.

Btw, I will say this again. Every GV customer needs to buy a vmax when they release it. It truly is a fantastic APV. I did get mine from another vendor, it is V2 in chrome, and Im totally in love with how it performs. I am planning to buy a stainless vmax also I like it that much.

So how are you folks cleaning the heads? I'm on about day three with the current head and its starting to taste a bit funky. I still have one of the three that I have not used, but I think I would rather try my hand at cleaning this one before moving on to the next one.

I rinse and dry burn after 2-4 fills just like any other CE2. I'm still on the 1st run V1 with 4 in rotation with at-least 15 cleanings on each head and still chuggin strong.
