Well tonight my TS just stopped working. I was miffed at why it would not fire. I could measure voltage at the atomizer connection when the button was pushed. The button was definitely touching the center axis. The center pole on the atty was touching. I tried different atomizers and different batteries and still no vapor. There was NO reason why it shouldn't work.

I took it apart and cleaned the threads, the button, the center axis, the center pole of the atty connection, put it all back together and what do you know.....? I works like new!

The moral of the story here is to keep your GG clean. Simple dirt or tarnish can cause resistance in the circuit and the atty just will not fire up.

Hope this helps!!!

very nice Sky. The most important is to clean the internal threads of the first tube that has the engrave on it and the threads of the telescope that goes inside that tube. That happens because all internal threads gets dirty more easily than external ones:)

Also if you see that GG is not smoking the first think you have to do is to reset the telescope. Unthread for 1 turn and then thread it again so the spring will sit in a different position. If after the reset GG works it will be for a short time until you clean the spring, the threads etc.

ps....... never panic with a non working GG, its always something very simple!

What did you use to clean it, pray tell.

for the threads, i was using my cape cod polishing cloths, then hot water / towel(i dont think this stuff is conductive), then dried with hair dryer, then i polished the outside, buffed which is barely any effort with cape cod polishing cloths...i can relate polishing time for my GG to that of tying my shoe's now :D:D

Hiya SD,

what exactly is a cape cod polishing cloth ???

and would this, - whatever it is, -

work on other mods with screwthreads ??

or is it just for brass ones

Vapn,
Hey, I have ALSO noticed this. I have noticed vapor drop off a little. The main problems for me have been the center contact pole on bottom cap and switch contact disk. Clean them up real good and hitting like a champ again.

So yeah, keep ALL contacts clean and sand from time to time. You really do have voltage drop off and you dont even realize. Then it eventually gets to the point where ya notice...and then no vapor.

Good info tho, vapn.

Bristow, Ok.
Yesterday I cleaned and shined My GG Storm up so pretty then today it started misbehaving. I read this thread and sprayed some WD40 on my inside threads. That melted off the Noalox off. Then I gave it a good cleaning. I had never cleaned those before. I am so glad you posted this. I don't like for my GG Storm to misbehave. I am happy again now. Thanks Vapn.

Another trick if GG misfires. Thread the telescope a little more to make the contact:D:D

GG dont need many things. contacts are:

button that touch the axis

battery that touch the spring

disk plate that touch the other end of battery

pole that touches the atomizer

threads that screw on the atty

connections between GG pieces

I put silver conductive grease on my contact points, it protects them from oxidation and makes for a better connection.

Di, They are really fabulous metal polishing cloths that Stormy recommended. Vapn went straight out and bought some after she mentioned them and reeeeeeeeeeeeeally was raving about what they did for him.
So, I have a wholesale order on its way in as we speak. :D
