EDIT: The first ecig was patented in 1963 buy Herbert Gilbert There was much interest in his invention but it kind of just went away a few years later.

Could of been it just preformed crappy cause of battery technology back then or BT bought it out and buried it. Who Knows

Bosuns whistle. Oddly enough they cost in about the same range as an ecig! Probably wont get you any of the dreaded formaldehyde though, and they taste like metal!
