So I decided to rip open my dead-on-arrival TIDY's just to see it's innards and if I could, repair it. I noticed that the positive end of the wire wasn't attached to the center post at all, eg there was no welding/soldering. I pulled it down with a bit of tweezers, set it between the rubber and the center post, and BAM -- suddenly it's showing a complete circuit again. Still trying to figure out how to detach the base from the part that covers it. If I could get that apart, I could replace the coils/wick and rebuild this cheap-o clearo. I took pliers to it but so far, no go.

Now just to figure out the leaking issues...

   Good luck! I've just about given up on them and use other things instead. Love my iTaste but they need to do something major to these tidys.

I agree, but sadly it's the only thing I have that fits under the cap! Until we get native magnetic square Stardusts or longer caps (ETA? anyone? :( ), I'd like to be able to fix and use these things if possible. I've been considering switching over to an eGo Twist with a Stardust just because it looks so much better than this does with a large tank like a Vivi Nova on it. Really, really wanting those Stardusts...

I think I may have "fixed" my tidies!

I took it apart, took some pliers and grabbed the center post by the top of the base and removed it from the base. This pulls the wicks out of the holes.

I took an old wick from a burnt out clearo (it's fairly thick, barely went through the holes) and threaded one end through one of the holes, pulled it up so the bottom was even with the bottom edge of the center tube base.

Cut that wick about 1/8" above the hole. Did the same with the remaining wick in the other hole.

Folded both wicks in the coil so they are folded over the coil and placed the center tube over that.

I had to use my pliers to press the center tube (grab it by the base!) down until it was firmly seated.

Put the clear tube back on, made sure the top seal was sealed around the center tube.

Flipped it upside down and filled slowly with sugar cookie.

Have been using it for about an hour, it's laying on its side next to me at the moment, but so far no leaking. It flooded a bit at the beginning, I think cause the plastic tube, or the oring wasn't fully sealed, but now aside from a slight gurgle at the beginning of a drag it's going great. I'm vaping it at 4.0-4.2 right now.

I'll post an update later to let you know if it's still going well or not.

No, don't have the problem with being hot. My biggest issue with the tidys is leaking and the tube coming off so easily. Just a small tug to remove it with the adapter still attached and you have juice on your desk or in your lap. I've been complaining from the beginning about the looseness of the tubes on them. I'd rather use something else and forego the cap than have juice leaking.
