You use one titanium wire, and you twist the ends on itself. The more you do twists the lower the resistance at that part is. The highest resistance will stay in the middle and it will have the most weight of the temperature average. It will be like 3 resistors in series but the middle one is 2 or 4 or 8 times higher than the other 2.

NR-R-NR wires dont work guys. The reason is that a thermocaple is produced where the join of the different metals is and electronix is confused.

VIR is patent pending under the number that Ariel posted. Its a worldwide patent for one year. Then I have to refresh it

So the Penelopes that i bought a couple of to use with Proteus won't work with Proteus??
And the VIR module for Esterigon (and JGG/GGTS) can't be used with my Iatties?

I guess that rules me out...

Well guys, this is how future works. Some old tech is not supported. Like software from 2007 on windows 8

Thats true, and i'm sure that VIR/DNA40/etc is the future of vaping.
However it doesnt erase the irritation that comes from buying a couple of Penelopes with the sole purpose of putting them on Proteus, then waiting patiently for years while Proteus is being evovlved, only to be told that the Penelopes cannot fulfill the purpose they were created and sold for.
Regarding the Iatties, well, evolution is evolution and sometimes the dinosaurs get too old and heavy and eventually die ;)

I look forward to Imeos response to Aal's idea of twisting the wires..

Fair point...

You should really pick up the Tilemahos, it is one hell of a device!

There is nothing wrong with production in China, my friends. Without Chinese production we wouldn't be able to be talking to each other on these devices! From what I've heard, we wouldn't have been vaping either - first ecigarette came out of China maybe a decade ago.

Where the problem lies is with counterfeits and clones. Since Imeo holds a patent on this technology (and I hope he defends it) and it's quite complex I think we won't be seeing counterfeits around for a while, if at all. I'm also really glad that this is going to be assembled in Greece. It makes me really proud to know that despite everything going on the last several years we're still capable of great things!

it will not work aal because VIR will detect bigger total resistance and it will give the wrong power to the point where the resistance is filled with wick.

clavit, you are right. You bought Penny 1 and 2 because of the upcoming Proteus. And there would be no problem if evolv hadnt patent the VW module. I could make a VW Proteus at the same time with VIR Proteus.

I am glad that you feel that way kd. Be sure that we will be always capable for everything. The only we need is appetite to invent:)

wonderful idea Ros. I will do that in case I see that people still want a device like this. On the other hand, VW is old technology and it doesnt suit me because I always want to give the best to my customers and protect them, something that a VW device cant do.
Did you ask Evolv for licensing terms? ;)

I'm in the same boat. I've even got a couple of 2 year old 14500 batteries still in the wrapper eagerly awaiting the Proteus.

Imeo - could you release a version of the Proteus with the old electronics (GG proteus electronics - YouTube) or ideally make the Penelope compatible with V.I.R.?

Thanks,
Martin.

Imeo i still think it will work. The bigger total resistance is weighed at the middle where your wick is. You can divide your resistances exponentially by twisting the wires. Anyway I will try NR when I receive VIR. The worst case is that it will give lower power to the R part than it is supposed to and not higher. So you can elevate your temperature and it would work.

A PCT application does not itself result in the grant of a patent, since there is no such thing as an "international patent", and the grant of patent is a prerogative of each national or regional authority.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patent_Cooperation_Treaty

Oh wow, look, someone knows how to use Wikipedia!!! LOL!

Really, Rossum, do you think I'm actually going to spend my time hashing out IP law in an ecig forum!?! To put it succinctly so that even you can understand, you file for an international patent in your country, which then gets sent to the WIPO, which once granted gets sent to all of the host countries' offices. You end up having a patent from you host country, that is then published in all member countries. God, I hate it when non-lawyers use the Internet to argue with real lawyers! Ugh!!!!
