i attempted to make a genisis a while back... made some spring loaded posts out of stainless steel watch strap bars with a hole sparked through the middle. worked well if a little fiddlyView attachment 114704

I did the same.

Made a 1cm wick and it appeared CE#'ish.

My problem was that I kept messing something up and with 0.20/32 AWG Kanthal was only getting 1.1 ohms. The wick was properly oxidised as I couldn't get any resistance with a multi meter on it.

Of course losing the atty was a bit of a downer for my experiment but will be giving it another try soon.

There was an upside to 1.1 and that was I had the atty in a bottom feeder with 3.7 and did I know it was pumping out 10 watts. It was a very good vape !

Just pretend it's food. Boil it for a few min's. and let it dry. I made the mistake one time of putting on a new tee shirt before I washed it, and these are just an assembly line product to the workers, so I'd think it best to make sure it is sanitized.
Now this may not help the taste you are getting, I have no idea what taste your getting. It could just be break in or a hot leg thing but it sure won't hurt to wash it 1st. My yarn wick tastes bad for a day then it's fine.

If you received a V2.5 with the long wicks, I've found they need the old RS - CE2 V2 fluff job on the wicks. Take a straight pin and unravel the wicks right up to the coil cup, not sure why but it improves the wicking until I get around to replacing it with cotton gauze.

This does seem to be the issue. I dropped some juice straight on the coils...tastes great for about 1 hit. Then goes back to having a burnt taste. Guess i'll fiddle with the wicks some.

Looking for some help on rewicking and recoiling the vivi nova 2.5. I have no idea where to start. I want to end up with 2.6-2.8ohms and I don't want cotton wick.

Can anyone guide me to what to buy, we're can I buy it (would it be available locally) and any videos on how to do it.

They are avalable at 2.8 with silicon out of the packet at around $3-4. I think about $12 or so with a tank.

Not sure who your local dealer is but LJESmokes and esmokeronline both local'ish stores to me have them.

Just tried the last stock head, but had to use it like a dripping atty, so couldn't really tell, although no burning... But I did notice the juice beaded on the silica. I think It could be a simple case of the juice being too thick to wick quickly enough. Did a quick wicking test comparing vodka to my juice, the vodka travelled over 10mm almost immediately, my juice took a lot longer! Problem is I like using vg. Pg makes my gums bleed!!!! I have vg nicotine and vg mixer!!! I usually mix 15% of the overall mix with water and/or vodka to thin it, but obviously that's not enough. Don't think my juice, although it does wick, does it quickly enough, therefore the burning!!! Will have to thin it down and try again. I suppose I should mix the vg down 15% BEFORE I mix it with the nicotine and flavour!!!! Hopefully it will make the difference!! Thanks for you help doc, will let you know when I had a chance test...
