I don't know what kind of coil is in the cartomizer that came in the kit, but I had a terrible time using it. I have put a Kanger carto on it today - those are bottom coil. And it works a charm! I've always preferred bottom coil cartos because its much harder to burn them. Anyway - this is working great. A little squonk sends juice directly to the whole coil, since its at the bottom of the carto. I am also going to experiment with pulling out the filler and using it just with the atty inside once its run its course.

The BF Hybrid atty is drying. I cleaned and dryburned but it just didn't taste right. So cleaned again and have left it dry. Don't know much about the BF Hybrid - works great but after heavy use for a few days need to be cleaned. Got some more attys coming in the mail. The VMod really is best with an atty I think.

The Silo Carto's are vertical single coils... you'll get better results with the bottom coil for sure. Personally, I've had pretty good luck with the Vapage atty's, however, they don't taste nearly as good to me as the HH.357's do in the same setup (plus they're available in a longbarrel form) -- but IMO you're right, the VMod was definitely made for atty use :)

I figured the Silos are vertical coil just from the way they vape and the burnt hits I got. I've always preferred bottom coils. I have some of both - but for a VMod bottom coil suits the way it works better I think. Got some Joyetech attys in and am using one of those. I really don't want to spend lots on attys. I have a Phoenix type RBA which fits the VMod with an unsealed 510-510 adapter. I'm going to put a new wick and coil in later and test it out. Edit - Realised I can't use it with the VMod XL - bottom of the RBA has no opening.
