New to the vape scene, but let me say it is a pleasure. I still smoke the occasional analog, but my chest feels lighter and my mouth, in the morning, has MUCH less nastiness than before. The old analogs taste that much nastier and seem more irrelevant than before.

I use to get anxious when approaching my last few analogs, along with the feeling of knowing I should quit for my health, but knowing I STILL was going to buy them. These feelings of shame, guilt and failure had become almost unbearable until I found, and it became more affordable, to use an e-cig.

This forum is a godsend, and I have learned much from you guys. Keep up the good work and dissemination of knowledge, as the e-cig has FINALLY given me a CHANCE to end the madness.

Love you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS: As I stated, I still do puff the occasional analog, but their appeal and want is MUCH less severe with the help of the e-cig. :vapor:

Thank you ALL. Yes, in part it was about waking 'n vaping with your favorite cup, but also the countless "other" situations us smokers AND ex-smokers find ourselves wanting to "light up." The e-cig is a godsend to those of us wanting to quit.

I can't tell you how accurate that statement is!!! My BF and I quit analogs completely on Thursday, December 30, 2010. That following Tuesday, January 4, 2011 his father had an accident and has been in Critical Care ever since. Even through all of the sleepless nights and countless trips to the hospital we are both completely happy with vaping and have not had an analog since. If we had quit any other way I know that both of us would be back to analogs. No other method curves that oral craving, and major stress has always brought on an immediate cigg for me. This time it was an immediate grab of the e-cig. I did not even think of an analog!

I feel you... STRESS is a MAJOR reason alot of us return to this dirty habit. Even the stress about the thought of quitting. Yeah, weird as it may sound, the stress of wanting to quit makes you continue.

I hope your FIL gets better, and keep up the progress, both of you. GOD bless.

I'm new to this, too. I'm still smoking analogs and vaping. Having difficulty making a full commitment to vaping. It seems there is a brain rewiring thing going on with me. I have to stop and think about not looking for an ashtray and lighter or like tonight: having a vape break in the restroom after eating out tonight. It almost seemed wrong. It's hard to articulate. I never ever thought I'd be able to quit my 30 year PAD habit. I'm encouraged and confident I will quit. Just got to rewire a little longer. I carry this thing around while at home like a pacifier. Absolutely love it.

If you ain't first your last :p please forgive me if you don't know what movie I'm referring to, but IMO everybody should have seen Talladega Nights at least once :)

I understand exactly what you mean. I had a lot of reprogramming to do, too. I actually caught myself in the act of lighting an analog sometimes when I really didn't want one... it was just a habit tied to something else (coffee was a major trigger). The more I told myself, "I'm a vaper now and not a smoker" the more I believed it. I'm completely convinced now.

Welcome to ECF, y'all!

and I was worried that I was hi-jacking the your thread. "I'm Ricky Bobby. If you don't vape, then (beep) you."
this is my favorite though:

Ricky: "Why do you want to listen to the TV with the stereo on?"
Cal: "Because I like to party."
