Like I said, I haven't been to one yet (since I started vaping)... but I've been to walmart, IHOP, the barber shop, grocery store and various other establishments and vaped right out in the open. Not one single problem.
Yeah, but we're talking about a movie theater now.

I've seen more vapor from a misty night by the river.

Okay, yeah, now I'm just giving you a hard time.
And there is no river anywhere near me.

LOL

You're right about the movie theater. Everyone is packed in there right next to eachother. Also its dark with light coming from the front which just illuminates the vapor I'm sure. So yeah it would probably be wise to just go ahead and blow it in your shirt.

I can't find the "No .........ing" sign at Wal-mart... There was a time where I would walk in to to the store with a beer in my hand and not care what anyone had to say about it. Why? Because I'm John Wayne and I do what I want. Then I grew up. I think it really comes down to common courtesy. You buy a device that you want to imitate a cigarette experience as closely as possible, but then when someone else compares it to or mistakes it for one its some sort of absurdity? No logic there.

Yea, except it's not a cigarette. Doesn't do or cause any of the harm to others that caused cigarettes to be banned in public places in the first place. Keep acting like it's a cigarette, people continue to think it's as harmful as a cigarette. I don't/wouldn't vape in Walmart, but what's discourteous about it?

I don't think its an absurdity. I saw someone vaping before in a doctor's office and I said "holy crap, look she's smoking!!"... so I can understand the mistake but when you say "this is vapor not smoke therefore I'm allowed to use this device" and they continue to demand that I stop, thats where it becomes absurd. Seriously, even if they've never heard of an e-cig, can't they see how quickly the cloud disappears? Smoke lingers much longer. Also, can they smell any smoke? No. They'd be able to smell second hand smoke immediately... and another thing, did I light it up? No. I pulled it out of my pocket and put it straight to my mouth. Besides, my eGo looks nothing like a cigarette.

My e-cig is not offensive to the public (like a real cigarette). I have a right to do it and I will stand up for that right if someone gets all up in my business. I'm no longer a smoker and I will not be inhibited like one.

Right On Bianca.

I like Short and Sweet answers to vexing problems.

So we meet again in one of these public vaping threads.

I hate going to Walmart with a purple passion. I need a shower, nap and cocktail when I get home, and I don't drink. The only time I go there is to do my good deed and cart my mother there. If vaping is going to get me thrown out of the store (please say yes) I'm bringing my ego the next time I go.

We do seem to run in the same circles lately. That is a good thing because I like reading your posts.

I have a rule. Never Go to Wally World on a Weekend. And Never Go there Unless you Obsolutely Have To.

"Is it me or do they import Fat, Slow people just to get in front of my cart every time I go there?"

Obvious to me, but not everyone else knows that. Wal-mart is not a 5x5 box where everyone could clearly see what you are doing and you can easily explain it. If I had a family and I'm walking through Wal-mart with them and I see you blowing a big cloud of "smoke"(Yes, we know it's not smoke and that it is not going to hurt people, but to others it will be look like smoke and for obvious reason) down at the other end of the aisle I'm probably going to want someone to mention it. Now if your standing 5 feet from someone, taking a hit off your mod and out of sight to others who are not directly surrounding you, it's obvious that your clouds are not smoke. I personally don't care what people do in Wal-mart as long as it doesn't effect me, I pretty much live by a "to each his own" philosophy. I am not everyone though. It is easier for Wal-mart to ask you not to vape than it is to be chasing down "the smokers" that other shoppers are complaining about. I don't even understand how this is a discussion. Unless you own a majority percentage of Wal-mart you don't get to claim the right to do anything in there. Bottom line is that it's not hard to mistake vaping for smoking from a distance, and some people don't want to shop where others are "smoking".

I do understand that many people do not understand that it is not smoke because they do not know yet that PV's exist (notice I always refer to e-cigs as PV's due to the stigma attached to cigarette smoking). So what is the worst than can happen if you freak someone out when they see your vapor and think it's smoke? First off, after seeing the cloud of "smoke" they should realize that they are not smelling smoke. So then if they do confront you, the you nicely explain/educate them about PV's. If instead of confronting you they complain to management and then management confronts you, you then nicely expain/educate to them. If managent asks you not to vape or leave after you educate them, then you comply either way you wish -at least the word gets out. By now, there are also many people who do know that PV's exist (there are a couple t.v. commercials out and some magazine ads -whole different topic so lets not go there in this thread) so they will almost instantly know that you must be vaping. I understand that Wal-Mart has the right to kick anyone out of their store for various reasons such as causing a big scene, but as long as a vaper is not causing a big loud scene, and is not physically harming anyone with their vapor production, nor menatally harming anyone other than possibly offending someone, than they do not legally have much to go by. This "offended" BS has to stop somewhere -after all as I tired to explain in my previous post, I get offended/annoyed by others in public places all the time for various reasons (for example having to listen to their screaming kid the whole time I'm shopping), but I don't ask that they leave. So to a certain extent I don't give a rats a** if I offend someone with my vapor output simply because at first they think it's smoke as it is obviously not smoke -does not smell nor act even near to smoke. Now when it comes to vaping in a theater, I would not want to try to watch a movie through a cloud of vapor, so I would not vape in a theater unless I could prevent a cloud from getting in other's view.

I don't know the answer and definitely can see both sides of this issue and don't honestly know who is right.

One the one hand, if we continue to treat vaping as smoking and hide out to vape the word won't get out about vaping and people won't have the opportunity to see what a wonderful thing vaping is and how it can change and save lives. Read the legislation section and see how little by little our rights regarding vaping are slowly erroding. Before we know it we'll be one of those countries that don't allow vaping at all.

You need to pick your battles I guess and it might be lost on the Walmart crowd.
