I'd love to purchase the Darwin from Drew at Nhaler but it's out of stock. Until I can get my hands on a Darwin, does anyone have input on a SB vs Omega? Favorite color? The Silver Bullet seems to be the classic mod and the Omega has great reviews too. I've done a lot of research, watched youtube videos, listened to pod casts and I still can't decide which one to get... :)

Does anyone know when the Eclipse will be available?

If you can afford the Darwin, I suggest you hold out for it or check over at Evolv (if that's correct, I think it is) to see if they have any in stock.

I would definitely suggest a VV mod, though. If you are not into the box mods, I'd recommend the Buzz from notcigs.com or the provari (from provape) if you know Morse code. :p (I'm kidding, but I can only imagine how annoying all that button pressing must be. :p)

Right now, I have my doubts about both the Darwin and the Provari. This is not from experience so, if you know different, please correct me but, my understanding is that neither of them anticipated the development of things like dual coil attys and cartos. I've seen a few posts from people that are saying they don't work well with them.

Changes come very quickly in this industry and now that the FDA is unlikely to proceed with it's attempt to ban I would expect that to accelerate. I would hate to spend the money for something like that and find it didn't work well with what later becomes standard equipment. It's part of the reason I've held off on buying a high dollar mod.

Well that goes for anything you get, sooner or later technology moves on and they make better things. I figure I could wait and wait but oh well might as well contribute to the economy and get things moving 8).

At one point I owned a Black ProVari.. It works great but IMO the battery life was really bad and pressing the button 5 times just to be getting to the voltage menu was annoying.

I then got a Darwin, fell in love, sold the ProVari, and that's that.

For dual coils I use a cheap but amazing VV box mod (Shan Mods @ VAPECORE.com

While my understanding of dual coil attys is very limited, I see the LR attys/HV attys and the dual coil etc. are made because most people are using a 3.7V (the HV being for people running at 5V or 6V) The beauty of a VV device is that you don't need any special resistance as you already have the ability to vary your voltage to hit your sweet spot.

Yes, I do think that development will definitely ramp up, but I see development at the moment occurring in a very linear fashion aimed at users of fixed voltage devices. I believe that as the vaping community switches to variable voltage devices you will see the most significant advances in technology.

Of course my understanding of all of this is very limited. and I am not an electrical engineer nor a fortune teller, I cannot know what the future does hold. In the mean time, I much prefer having the ability to dial in the voltage to my preferred taste. :)

lol. I've been using a Riva (w/cisco attys) while researching mods for the past year or so ('cause I keep waiting for new technology). First I thought 'I should wait for the Darwin reviews'. Now I'm thinking '...no I'll wait just a little bit longer for the eclipse'. Then I think 'crap - I should just get the beloved SB! But the omega has cool reviews!...' I can't tell you how many times my finder has hovered over 'hit enter to confirm your order' ~ and I still haven't placed an order. :)

If you can afford the Darwin, I would get one! Provari, while a good mod, is not as portable, has a menu you have to tap through that would drive me nuts. If I never had a Darwin, I would probably love a provari. But after using both, the Darwin is simply easier to use, more comfortable to hold and the battery life us amazing! No more carrying extra batteries, feeling the difference between the first vape on a freshly charged battery, and feeling the difference as the battery discharges. With the Darwin, the first vape is identical to the last until the battery is completely dead, about 1 1/2- 2 days. You'll love it!

If you keep waiting for the latest and greatest, you'll waste a lot of time with substandard pv's while you could have the best, until you find a new best.

Oh ya pushing the button a few times and watching screen is pretty hard.If we could just make it change by mind transfer and not have to move are finger it would be worth allot more.I don't get ware as pushing a simple button has became such a hard task. Oh ya i use dual coil cartos with great success and batteries last longer then most pv's will.No you can't do them at 5v on it but why would you want to.

Darwin runs the 2 Ohm Dual Coils just fine from 3.7v to 5v here.

Umm yeah, I've seen several posts from alldayvape and I'm pretty sure he's a real darwin fan but, even he says...

I wasn't trying to knock the Darwin or the Provari for that matter. I was questioning the wisdom of spending that kind of money for that kind of technology in this environment. For VV right now, I think a voltmeter and a volume knob is about as far as you should go. That's an opinion not a pronouncement. :)
