Sorry your coffee time was soiled. Mine was so much more exciting with the bonus of being able to spew righteous indignation! ;)

And here I was getting ready to rally the people of the village, collect our torches and pitch forks while swarming the offices of every local lawyer in a swift and sudden reactionary measure... Thankfully everyone was unwilling to come out from under their woobies due to the cold rain.

I don't think the server in question has synced yet because it is still possible to see the Notice without the X button (I can't get the updated version on one browser). If you can see the new version with the X button then your cookie (and therefore server) has changed for some reason.

Anyway, I've asked the server admin to look at it, maybe he will feed the hamsters or whatever it takes to get the wheel spinned faster.

Many people do not read the stickies so we have to use Notices. As long as the notice is seen, we have done our job. In the end, people who want to get a Darwin award will do it, whatever we do to try and prevent it. As long as it is impossible for people to look at certain information here without having a warning displayed, we have done what we can. You can't legislate for or protect the one in 10,000 who has no concept of self-preservation, they will evade all obstacles you put in their way to try and stop them harming themselves. It's evolution, they will be removed from the gene pool, you can't stop it, and ultimately it's probably a good thing anyway. As long as we tried.

To prevent any harm to anyone, no matter how stupid, everyone else's rights would have to be removed. That is not acceptable.

Huh? Did I say anything to indicate I don't agree with this?

I only had an idea about how one might get more people to read the important stuff more often.

Trust me. People don't read the stickies, people don't read the announcements. In fact a good percentage probably aren't even reading your replies to their posts... unless you agree with them.

I read that stuff a lot..but you can't always read everything. On the Sony forums it used to track your stats and said I read over 3/4 million posts (mostly about Socom)..I cut back after a couple years though and don't try to read every post in a board that interested me anymore. I do try to read replies to my posts whether people agree or not..got me in trouble before though :D I've learned since then :)
