WOW- this is very exciting!! MN was a Godsend to me as a Newb. I had recieved my kit not knowing at all what to do, holding the supplies and equipment in my hands, staring blankly at the forums screens and not a clue where to go with this stuff. I watched her videos and followed her to a T. Also, fsusa helped with the best juice to get me off of the analogs....so all in all, what a great team!!!!! I am so happy for all of you and for what a great job you have done and keep doing. You're the perfect example of what this industry SHOULD be! So many exciting things happening and I will try my best to keep up with everything- the next couple of weeks are going to be rough with my finals and end of semester. Anyways...Good Job FSUSA and welcome to their team MistressNomad!!!

I know everyone is really excited to congratulate you MN, as I am too, but it would be great to see answers to some of the great questions posed by some of the members. Can you help us out here?

I know some of the questions have been answered, but I think it would help to see the answers all in one place

I think we would all love to hear the answers but, I do think it may be a little premature to ask for specifics. I am sure David will have more specifics as time goes on. MN has not even moved there yet.

This is a new process that is coming and I am sure, like with all new processes, details are probably still being nailed out. Now, David is going to make a big deal out of OSHA because it does make FSUSA more of a legitimate business. There are still many juice vendors mixing and selling out of their living rooms. OSHA isn't even a thought in their minds.

It looks to me like David is trying to create a new specification for quality control. As with many specifications, this is how they come to be. I work with credit cards (PCI specifications) and HIPAA (privacy regulations). Both of these were created by companies that decided to go above and beyond what other companies were doing. They laid out their own tight guidelines and conformed to them. With PCI, these guidelines were then handed to VISA and Mastercard, which were then adopted. This is how I see David and Pam are taking their initiative. They are also inviting companies to adopt these guidelines. Due to the FDA seeing utter chaos in the PV market, this really does give an edge in our legal battles with them.

I am not seeing any of this as David saying, "We are better than other vendors.". I see it as David saying, "We need to come together and form an alliance.". I may be way off, but this is how I am taking his actions and words.

you are not way off. It is a big part of why we are doing this. We are opening a legitimate retail store with a vapelounge. Local state and federal government will regulate us. We are doing what is necessary to legitimately mix and sell our own fluids to the public at large in a walk in environment. We are following all the necessary rules and completing all regulations.
I have yet to see a single dealer in this industry ever even try to attempt the process of regulation to guarantee their customers safety.
We are not trying to slam other dealers. We just want folks to be able to know what they are getting is safe, as good as safe can be in this crazy world we live in.
If other vendors wish to contact us we would be happy to help them down the same road we have taken. I suspect most won't. profit is a huge motivator here and trust me, coming into line with government guidelines is not easy, not cheap and very time consuming. But we are going to do it anyways for our own peace of mind, and the peace of mind of people who buy from us.
We still have many steps to take, and we will post them as they occur.

You know LD, I try not to respond to these threads because anything we say is used against us. But I have to chime in a wee bit.

1) David and Pam are doing what they think is the right way to move to the next level. Their employee benefit package alone is better than most are getting in many industries these days. That's a huge hit in the profit margin. But as they see it, it's the right thing to do.

2) I don't think a month has passed since some here at ECF singled FSUSA out demanding full disclosure of all ingredients used in our juices. David announces he's going to go even farther by having all components used analyzed and published. The same crowd jump on him for doing more than what they were just demanding.

3) Despite the costs involved, in a move no corporate board of directors would stand for, he offers to test the juices of any supplier at his expense if they want it. This gets them slammed, claiming they're calling the others out while at the same time saying he was trying to eliminate competition. By offering free testing if they wanted it but didn't want to pay for it!

It is obvious to ECFers without an agenda that there is a group of folks who can't be satisfied. You go beyond what they were just complaining about not doing and they accuse them of some hidden agenda.

A rational person would appreciate vendors testing and detailing the results of something going into their bodies. It's also widely known that eventually the FDA will come out with mandates. Rational vapers would prefer the industry initiate standards before big tobacco convinces the FDA to implement measures only they will be able to afford once they come up with a plan of action that includes their holding the trademarks.

Anyone can pop up stating they have started making vape juice. You would think that the entire community would want to be assured the juice they're vaping isn't made in a bathtub.

It's a sad day when the suppliers have better relationships than the vapers. You have people questioning who is hired, yet they have never questioned the qualifications of the juice vendors they purchase from. There are soo many suppliers and the list is growing. If you don't like any vendor's juice, don't but from them.

I doubt if Smokey Joe is happy with the negative tone across ECF lately. I wouldn't be surprised if the ECF Mods start cracking down on the attacks. Against suppliers who pay for these forums and other ECF members who are here to learn, help others, and find some friendly dialog.

I hope this post doesn't become something turned into a sinister plot.

OK - I think that's fair. I just know I have lots of questions, but overall I'm pretty excited about this move to better industry-wide knowledge. See my response on the thread Ripple started - I think there's some decent discussion happening there btw - aside from the few instigators ...

I'm definitely on the YES train here. If I didn't vape I would NEVER stopped smoking - even with the bronchitis and sinus infections. My Ears, Nose, Throat specialist said the only way to stop these quarterly recurring infections was to STOP smoking. I'm only a month in so I can't say if vaping is helping me stop getting these infections but You've given me hope Bonniegirl! Glad to hear your health has improved over the last two years.

On the subject of testing - again I like to see this great cottage industry trying to improve and regulate itself. Overall I think we have a great community growing here, which is not to say there won't be some bad apples out there, but if we can as a community promote the a better insight into what vaping really does to our bodies than more power to us. Discussions such as this thread could lead to real breakthroughs into what type of testing is important, scientifically what do we really need to show that we are helping ourselves. As a community we should really try to organize some type of real oversight body that could supplant the 'government watchdog'. The government is not always on the side of the consumer IMHO and if we have our own organization we could really make inroads into mainstreaming vaping as a smoking substitute... Obviously any organization could not be supplier/vendor affiliated, but kudos to FSUSA for trying to get the ball rolling..

lol MN does not like to be called a Hottie! ok well she coyly smiles a bit when you allude to that but it goes against her sensibilities that the flesh is just a vessel. But hey, brains can be surrounded by a cute vessel too :)

Hey, take it up with my wife... But with her being a scientist, it's best not to argue with her. If she says someone is a hottie, it's clearly a scientific fact.
