Also, for the past month or so, I have used a paper towel "gasket" on the needle assembly. I take about a 2x2-inch piece of paper towel and fold it in half twice to make a square about 1x1, then punch a hole in the center with a paper clip, and slide that over the needle assembly before inserting the needle into the unit, then wedge the paper towel in for a good fit.

Yes, I do remember you mentioning that. If I get mine fixed I'll certainly do that. Someone else in this thread made a similar gasket out of silicone. The paper towel would absorb so that's a good idea.

I also thought of sealing the button somehow, maybe a homemade silicone plug would work?

wow! sucks that some are having issues with the wet box. I've had mine for a couple months with no issues at all. I've never had a leak using cartos but I've noticed that when I've put standard atty's on it, I have to use more pressure to squeeze the bottle in order to wet the bridge bcause the tip of the needle is right against the underside of the bridge. I'm wondering if the people having leak issues are trying to use standard atty's and the added pressure to squeeze the bottle is causing leaks at the cap.
I've placed standard and LR 510 atty's on mine but didn't like the tightness, so I never ran them more than a few drags.

Sorry for everyone who's having problem, mine is still working perfectly fine (wetbox with KR808D-1 cartomizers) !

Have my first wetbox for 48 days, had a problem 2 weeks ago tho, the switch went completely dead, pushed the bottle too much, liquid was pouring in and I flooded the switch, kind of my mistake, I was trying old liquid and they didn't produce a throat hit like I'm used to so I kept pushing on the bottle to give more flavors. I let it dry overnight but still the same problem in the morning, then just a drop of WD-40 in the switch and the problem went away in 2 minutes, it's suppose to draw the humidity out.

I ordered another wetbox, had it for 7 days now and about every 2 days I switch wetbox, I put a drop of WD-40 in the one I was using and let it dry completely for 2 days while opened. And when the draw is becoming hard, I change to another cartomizer, gives me great results, I should order a bunch of new cartomizers tho, had mine for 6 months, I've boiled them about a dozen times :)

Needless to say that now that I have 2 wetbox, if one of them breaks, I will send it for repair, at 20-25$ with shipping for repair and 50$ for a new one it's perfectly in my price range.

One full day with my Wetbox and so far no sign of leakage. But the switch and the opening for the needle are HEAVILY covered in glue (from a hot glue gun) so maybe if it does leak someday, that will help protect the switch.

I am not clear on how to clean the switch with WD-40. Any chance for a vid or some pics showing exactly where to spray it? Seems like a good idea in a "regular maintenance" kind of way.

It is a good idea and it's now recommended in the new sheet instruction that comes with the wetbox :

"If the button acts finicky, blow out the hole around the button with canned air and then give a squirt of WD-40 in the hole. Let it soak for a couple of minutes. This will drive out any moisture and clean the contacts."

IMO, I'd even go as far as to say don't wait until the switch has a problem, do it regularly to make sure the switch doesn't rust/corrode, it should help your wetbox has a longer life since there will always be some liquid running down the needle.

Here's a picture showing clearly where to put the drop in :

Yep Missy told me about the wd40 the first time I flooded it. I did what she said put the wd in the hole after I blew it with the can of air. It still didnt work, so I sent it back to her but I guess it dried out by the time it reached her. She said it worked fine but that the needle wasn't the right needle and that was why it flooded. So I bought a new needle and still flooded it LOL . I am just a nut with the refills I guess. This next one I will refill less and do the napkin trick too.

Another trick I'm using sometimes and if you're using a cartomizer (dunno about atomizer), is to remove the carto and the bottle/needle from the wetbox, open the cartomizer (by removing the cover where you put your lips on), insert the needle in the thread hole and push the bottle to fill the carto, if it leaks it'll be in your hands, not the wetbox. The more you do this, the more you will know exactly the pressure and the time you have to press the bottle to make sure you don't flood it.

Or sometimes, with the carto and bottle in the wetbox, I push the bottle and right after I turn the wetbox upside down to make sure no liquid runs down the needle.

I have done the upside down trick a time or two LOL. I may try filling the carto if it is really dry outside the box now that I know the leaking issues. I know that we are not suppose to use attys with the wet box. Only cartos, no attys.

So I thought I would update. I have had my new wetbox since last Saturday. Basically if I had not used the handy towel trick it would be all flooded. I tried the sticking the towel through the needle as I understood it, but found that to be not enough towel to keep the juice from leaking. So I did something else. I folded the towel and wrapped it around the top of the bottle where it meets the needle. Like this. wetbox.jpg

I got one and it worked for less than a week. Then nothing. Checked everything....cartomizer worked on my Ego, battery charged etc. I emailed customer service and was referred to Missy. She said to used canned air in the button to spray out any liquid and then spray the switch with WD 40. I did and it started working again. It worked for a day so I felt it was good and stored it for a couple of weeks. I took the cart off so it wouldn't leak and removed the batteries and opened it up to air like she suggested. I waited for my E2 cartos to come in and put in a new cart and freshly charged battery and pressed the button...instant fry!

This was about a month after puchase. I did not flood this thing. I removed the battery very quickly and emailed her again and told her that now the switch had stuck in the on position and fried. First it wouldn't work at all and now it stuck in the on position. She said I could pay to return it and she would fix it for 15.00. She said not to use the high drain batteries or it could cause a short....thanks for letting me know now! No thanks....I am going to just get a new switch if I think it is worth the trouble and fix it myself, but I am not happy.

That looks exactly like what I do - after running the needle through the folded-over paper towel, I scrunch it around the bottle top before installing the bottle/needle assembly back into the WetBox. It's made a huge difference.

Yep it seems to be working. I just wrapped my strip of towel around the cap of the bottle like a band aid , I didn't go through the needle. But whatever works right LOL.
I thought of trying to cut a carto condom and slide it on the needle backwards to catch the juice but then it would leak all over if the wetbox was tipped over and the catch cup was full.

Mine stopped working and I freaked out! I'm using the silicone plug and the paper towel inside. No liquid anywhere...LOL...the battery died! I recharged it and I am good to go.

Don't forget about the battery!

Yes I freak out every now and then thinking my wetbox died, then I change battery and I'm like phew, that was close (or rarely it's the cartomizer) :)
