There is so much talent in this group! I have seen dozens of creations that I would love to purchase!! Just think, If everyone got together, we could easily have a thriving store! :D

As for me, I am into just about everything crafty. I tend to do things in phases though. I make jewelry, soap, candles, sew, quilt, cook, bake, garden, scrap-book, stained glass, pottery, blow glass, decoupage...and the list goes on. I quite simply don't have enough time (or money) to do everything I would like.

My other-half and I have been working towards living completely self-sufficiently so I have really been learning how to make things from scratch and how to be more resourceful. Now I find myself looking at things I would ordinarily throw out, and seeing untapped potential!

Meanwhile...keep up the great work ladies! You are all such an inspiration and I truly love seeing all the amazing things you create!

I make evil LOOKING little dolls that really aren't. (For example, the one I've pictured here is afraid of cats and hot dogs..) They've been a pretty good little 'side business', but they will be going into mass production (hopefully) within the next 18-24 months.

The Reborn Cherub Garden by reborn artist Karen Swift

Ah, the re-born dolls! They're amazing, aren't they? I bought a kit or two, but unfortunately, they don't seem to take on the much needed green or red hue that's needed for MY guys! I DID one of those up as a little 'creature' for a customer and THAT thing gave ME the creeps..a little TOO real looking!!

Wow, I have been looking at this thread and you ladies rock!! I have crocheted for over 30 years, just learning to knit now and it is driving me insane, lol! I have in the past done cross stitch, candlewicking, embroidery, drybrushing ceramics, rugmaking, and probably some other things I can't remember right now. My yarn stash is huge but not as huge as some I have seen. I have also done computer graphics for about 6 years now. Plus I have to take care of 8 parrots, a cat, a hubby and 13 y/o son. I don't have a pay job but my husband couldn't afford to pay me for everything I do, lol!

All this talent here!

I sew, and crochet, knit and mess around with other handicrafts. Wade is such a good sport about my fabrics and yarns. Right now they're all over the living room while I resort and inventory them.

Here's a recent project. I made up hundreds of the full size Cabbage Patch Kids in the early 80's. Then started making them smaller and smaller.. til they got this little.

The dolls are about an inch and a half tall here they are with a couple of my smaller dolls.

So many things yet to learn how to do...

BIG Sloppy wet kisses,

Margie

Margie those are amazing- love the little thread crochet dress on the brunette doll. I'm at this moment learning thread work. A bit too fiddly for my weak eyes, but the results are so pretty. I'll have to post pics of my silly crochet toys this weekend. :)

I'd love to see them! And thank you...I can't take credit for the dress, that was given me by a friend. My crocheting is not that uniform, I just sort of get by with it ya know.

Must... see... pics....

Big Wet Sloppy Kisses,

Hey Margie! My 6 year old daughter wants me to buy her the little ones in the last picture!! Do you sell them and, if so, could you fire me a PM?

P.S. I promise not to 're-born' them into something evil. Cross my heart. :)

Shew! I just read every single page of this thread, lol!

I loooove creating things. My main interest (and my first love, lol) is scrapbooking. I love photography, and I've always been into journaling, and scrapbooking combines the two, so perfect for me. Plus, I'm keeping a record of my family's history, and I do think thats important.

From scrapbooking, I've branched out to other paper crafts, such as card making, and altered items(love altering old books). I'm also into ATC's lately. These are "Artist Trading Cards" minature works of art, in any medium, that are about the size of a baseball card. Here's a link that explains them(with pictures):

Art in your Pocket: ATCs

I would love to get some of you talented ladies in an ATC swap. If you paint make a tiny painting, if you are into photography you can do photos,if you do collage you can do that, if you quilt you can make tiny quilts, if you sew, you can incorporate that. Any art form can be used in/on them, there is no right or wrong. The only "rule" is that they aren't supposed to be sold, only given away or traded and the size must be 2.5x3.5, and you should "sign" the back. They are very collectible.

I also collect postage stamps, my goal is to collect at least one stamp from every country that's ever issued a stamp. I have over 200 right now, I need about 80some more. I also dabble in quilting and other needlecrafts.

Karen, I love, love , love you babies! Actually, I was pointed to you site a couple of months ago, when I first discovered these babies. I want one so bad, but haven't been able to afford one, every time I have enough money to blow on things like this, something always comes up. grrrr....I am going to pm you about these.

Margikins, I want some of your dolls! Do you sell them? I'm working on my first dollhouse(sad, huh?) and I would love a few of these for them!

You ladies are definitely my type of people! I love art in all forms, I love seeing different people interpretations of art in their different mediums. There's nothing any machine can make that can equal something made with your hands that comes from your soul.

Thanks MaryKay for pointing out this thread, I had no idea how many crafty and really talented ladies we had here. I make candles and do other crafty stuff like soap for the family. This is a candle I'm working on for my sister-in-laws wedding. She asked me to make her unity candle and all she wanted was something personalized. She didn't want to hear any of my idea's except to remember her wedding color is red. UGH, I almost hate the pressure of something like that.

Here is the picture of the candle, but I'm not happy with how the back turned out. If you can't tell from the crappy picture I used red and clear crystals. I wanted those two diamond shape patterns to be more pronounced. I am thinking now I should have used a bigger red stone and a little smaller clear stone. I want to remake the candle, but my hubby said I better not even think about it. My son (15 yrs old) told me he thinks it's beautiful, and he reminded me he doesn't use that word very much. I think the back looks like a porcupine with a bad case of warts.:D

Here is the front with the invitation.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

MaryKay, he is his fathers son, such a character, and always goofing around for a laugh. He will be going into 1st grade this year and a feel so sorry for whom ever will be his teacher. He/she better have a good sense of humor, I don't know how many times I told his kindergarten teacher she is a saint. (All teacher are but especially kindergarten teacher are saints)

Last night while getting ready for bed my husband went up to help him. My husband came down trying to wear my son's Pj shirt,(not a pretty sight) and my son had on my husbands work shirt and my husbands glasses. Those two keep me on my toes but keep us all laughing. You really want to get mad at those two but how can you when your laughing so hard.
