I'm another one who flits from project to project...

I've painted little ceramic houses for Christmas Villages
Made family Christmas ornaments (snowballs with all your family names in calligraphic style lettering)
Strung my own pearl necklaces
Drawing in pencil and colored chalk
Written the first 100 pages in several stories.
Completed about 20 short stories
People watching!
Read a TON of books (and collected them, too). The Dragonriders of Pern is one of my favorite worlds to visit.

I've taken up Yoga, meditation, and written a meditation "journey" where if you listen to the tape, and keep your mind open, you can be taken into a meditative state and then back out with complete refreshment.
I can put together a wicked meal without using any recipies.

Never tried gardening (I have a brown thumb).

Have you ever tried watercolor pencils? They're a lot of fun.

Do you by chance use menthol crystals in your juice? I've been waiting all day for a response on the DIY board about the crystals the pharmacist gave me this morning. I NEED menthol. I've been smoking analogs today because the mixture of VG and MyVaporStores menthol is enough to make you gag after a few minutes....don't care for the vg taste at all....

Trapped within my imagination
wow..this is thread is where I belong lol :: pulling up a chair::

Bunch of creative ladies....Nic, I swear your personality description is so like mine, we could be sistahs...I just wish I had your technical abilities..Mine are more high detailed artsy stuff..but, the wrestless problem solving- tunnel vision..We are dead on..
Wild- your candlewicking made my high detailed genes salivate lol Gorgeous work.
And Karen- wow, there are no words...Talk about high detailed work..

Ive been a hairstylist forever..I also studied to become a nurse ( hated it- a less "creative" job there isn't lol)..I used to flitter from one project to another too..And miserable if I didn't have one..I'd decorate my house obsessively or go buy flowers just to putter with the arrangements if I had nothing else to do..My husbands always been my biggest fan.. He would say, wow everything you do is beautiful...Now find a way to make some money with it! lol... I love reading and writing.. I wrote all the time, loved writing - action romance, paranormal yea! However, even after two yrs of college..I can't punctuate my way out of a paperbag = talk about a mental block, I'd need a ghost writer lol.( did i mention that I was extremely wordy lol)

Then one day I picked up a paint brush..The vision of that tunnel has never really stopped..I'm now a Custom Faux Finisher and Muralist.. I had found an art website loaded with famous authors, artists, designers, faux finishers..all so willing to answer all and any questions ( anyone interested, it's called MuralsPlus)... I read till my eyes crossed..Asked question after question, Started taking classes..
Found a few muralist and finishers in my area to work with.. Did a few designer show homes with them, an amazing experience. Got my first faux job with my dentist..Determined to only work high end..I quoted that ^ price without batting an eye, while quaking with fear inside lmao...
So many times I have wished I knew someone like nico that I could call while on a job lol > hey gf, come help me yank this counter top off and do the backsplash! lol
I love painting Tromple L'oeil - "To decieve the eye"..I painted some playing cards on a table one night and casually asked my hubby the next morning> "hey, hand me those cards".. He tried to scoop them up twice before he started laughing and said> your such a btch rofl

I haven't picked up a paint brush since finding this board..I'm still in tunnel vision on e- cigs and this forum..However, I have already painted/fauxed my e-cigs in my head a 100 times lol...I love reading you guys..Its better then Stephen King..Heres to creativity!

Might as well add to this thread. I'm a knitting machine'oholic for sure :) When my daughter moved out last year, her room became my knitting machine/yarn/snake room. Yes, snakes, I have 4 of them so I guess they're sorta a hobby too ;-)

The machines are a Silver Reed LK150, a Brother 710, a Bond Deluxe, and a Bond Fashion Knitter, along with a couple of the circular ones. There's a ton of yarn stashed in that room...so much I've been told I could open a store :p.

The snakes are a female albino snow cornsnake, a male amelamistic corn snake, a female ball python, and a female brazilian rainbow boa (from the Lamar lines if that means anything to anyone). :)

LOL I have a bond deluxe - HATE IT, could never get it to work properly, just about tore my hair out!

I used to keep snakes when I was a teenager, we were in Africa and my brother would keep bringing them home :D We'd let them go eventually, never kept them for very long or not all of them - we did keep one big one for a long time... it was a House Snake, we also kept some Red lipped heralds. (those were my favorites, look like they have lipstick on!)

RazorNribbonz!! It all makes sense now, A hairsylist LOL. I am so dense sometimes.

sheilalynn, Welcome! Snakes huh? I like them, don't want to keep them but if I see them first and they don't rattle or hiss at me I am fine!

lorraineg57, I saw something in one of the threads that answered your question. I just can't find it again!!! I will keep on looking.

These are two otters I carved.

A pinecone picture done in bas relief.

This is a Cigarette pack dispenser, a larger version of a match box holder. It did hold a carton each of regulars and 100's. All gone now!

Last, An Intarsia tissue box. Intarsia is the art of cutting shapes from different color woods that fit together like a puzzle, round the edges and
glue them to a background. Painting pictures with wood. The wood I used to form the hearts (on 3 sides) are from 2 cedar boards. Cedar has a wonderful palette of colors to work with!
The canes in the background are mine too. I used dowels with handles I cut, shaped and painted. I made them in hopes of never needing them!
