I just wanted to say that I received a box of lovely soaps yesterday, hand-made by CarrieM...........she had mentioned on the thread here earlier that she was a soap maker, and I wanted to purchase some from her. Well, I could smell wonderful things before I even opened the box! I'll be using a bar in the morning. They are so nice! Thanks, Carrie.

That's what I want to get into.. Making soaps... Been toying with the idea for a long time.. I used to do some ceramics that I'd first make a desin out of thin cardboard and then use a knife to cut the peices out and then when dry paint them and coat them with varnish.. Used to do a lot of "eye of horus" ones for friends that liked to hang then on walls

Soap making is fun, but there is a lot of research to do before you jump head first into it. It is addicting though, So many fun things to do and try. When you are ready let me know. I can point you some good starting places

I got some homemade oatmeal/lavender soap from a friend..so I put the extra one in a plastic bag until I finished the first one..not a good idea, it mildewed!
Oooh - good to know. Didn't know they'd do that. Carrie - what is the best way to protect your scented soaps from drying out and losing their fragrance?

Cool.. I'd appreciate it

I've been looking into it a bit and it seems fun but a lot of work, which I don't mind.. I'm all into herbs..

Hello all, just wanted to stick my head in and say hi! I'm new to the forum, just 11 days into vaping but I'm totally hooked. I just discovered this group and when I saw the crafts thread, well, I had to check it out!

Quick run down on me - I am the caretaker of 40-60 sheep (depends on the time of the year), 6 dogs (3 inside, 3 with the sheep), 3 horses and 2 goats...and a full time city job. Yes, I am crazy. My flock consists primarily of bluefaced Leicester with a touch of Shetland, Rambouillet and Cotswold. The 2 goats are pygoras....and spoiled brats lol.

In my spare time I love to spin and knit and even the idea that fall is coming has my knitting juices flowing....hey is there such a thing as knitting juice?! :)

Anyway, I'm looking forward to participating in this thread if you'll have me!
