In all honesty, me personally, i dont really need nicotine much anymore. Im off cigs and juice consumption is less than 50ml per week. If i had to, i could quit vaping. I vape because i like it. And god forbid we should like anything. If there was a coffee forum (probably is somewhere) and everyone talked about how wonderful coffee is and how they discovered some unproven health benefit from it that would cut profits from some big corporations , the government would try to stop people from drinking coffee.

...and now for the rest of the story...
USA ‘Lung’ Outbreak Commentaries
(with a comment from Dr.F)

Cheers
I
I just started reading it, and realized there’s almost everything in it, from vaping to THC to Spice. From what I know, Spice (THC like chemicals manufactured in a lab) is really bad stuff, and should absolutely not be mentioned together with vaping...

To me being a European this irresponsible story comes accross in just the same way as the other bonkers stuff that has/and does go on in the US. IMO largely to do with systemic corruption linked to personal gain.

This is clearly no more likely to be caused by vaping than any other possible culprit. Pollution, Industrial processes, smoking, unmentionables, etc.

I feel really sorry for you guys over there living with this utter BS. The congress isn't doing their job properly and to many important things are being left up to individuals who have no right or mandate to make law......Your system is very obviously deeply broken and flawed.

Rant over

Dr Farsalinos comments could equally apply to nic salts.
His comments could equally apply to anything and everything that's ever been done in vaping from the very beginning until today.

Of course there's a fix for all that; it's called the PMTA process, which mandates extensive testing and governmental review before the product is offered for sale.

Be careful what you ask for. You might just get it, good and hard.

I’m European too, and I feel there’s absolutely no reason to think there’s any less corruption or less crazy stuff going on here in Europe than in the US.

I haven't asked for anything.

I'm sure there is corruption everywhere it's part of human nature but there are legal reasons why it very much a bigger issue in the states than Europe ;)

These cases may be from people who are making their own liquids and not mixing correctly??? May be using too much nic???

The symptoms of nic overdose are fairly well known, and as far as I know they don't include lung failure. There does seem to be a good amount of evidence that illegal substances are behind these incidents. People take illegal drugs every day and die or get sick from it. In a few cases lately they seem to be using vaping gear to feed it into their bodies.

And the press just loves anything with a shock horror angle.
