Chief Review Appraiser for a nationwide residential appraisal management company (AMC) for past 3 years.

I've been involved in a lot of fields so I consider myself a jack of all trades/master of none. Anywhere from pizza delivery, convenience store management, building material delivery, inventory control/quality control for a manufacturer, car sales, real estate sales, IT support services at IBM, owner/operator of my own real estate sales/appraisal business............................

Hope to retire as a blackjack dealer in vegas

I am a brokerage compliance officer (stock and bond cop) at a bond trading firm in NY. Boring, tedious work, but it pays the bills. When my kids ask me what I do, I tell them that I am a "corporate fixer". Bring me a problem I will find a way to fix it.

Sometimes I feel like I am the guy who cleans up after the elephant at the zoo....but instead of a bucket and shovel, I have a thimble and spoon......nice.

My first job out of college was a muni jockey in a bank's investment services division. Got my Series 6, Series 7 and Series 52 licenses and did practically nothing for customer accounts for a year. Business sucked. There was no inventory in GO's, and back then banks couldn't hold revenue bonds in inventory. Then just before the crash in 87, I loaded up on zero coupon Treasury calls.

Three days and a 300 basis point "flight to safety" move in Treasuries later, I exercised. They mature in 2016. I hope there's still a US Treasury left when it's time for me to collect.

I haven't worked in the industry since 1988.

Kicked out of high school... dicked around in college for a while then dropped out... now working as a lead engineer for a medical device and cancer research company.

I was fortunate and landed a job in software QA when I was 22. I knew computers pretty well and taught myself how to program over the course of the next year. I was hired on as an engineer soon after and have been promoted four times in the last five years.

I now head up software design and architecture for a medical device (a fluorescent tissue scanner) and an image analysis platform.

First professional job out of college was advertising research, poached by a larger firm. Loved those jobs for 23 years, assumed I would retire from the last one.
Three years ago became too ill to work, immune deficiency, chronic fatigue, etc. Still trying to figure out exactly what's wrong and how to fix it, it's been a very long road.

At the age of 45 I am a retired Freight Relocating Specialist (Truck Driver). I had to retire due to a severe shoulder injury that happened on the job in June of last year. Have had 2 surgeries to repair but with no luck. My next surgery will be a total replacement. I am still on Work Comp but we are getting ready to settle. We are just waiting on my MMI and PPI numbers now. It will be a full settlement since the Surgeon has already declared it a Total disability. I also have a lawsuit against the first Physical Therapy Facility that I went to after my first surgery. The therapist did not read anything in my file before he worked on me. During the second session with in 5 mins he had me in so much pain that I was damn near in tears and damn near ready to break my good hand on his fore-head. he said he didn't have time to read my file. But what he did have time to do during that session was to not only re-tear everything the surgeon repaired but extend the tear and causing more damage inside of the shoulder. I now have 9 Perm Steel Anchors and screws and a 1..5 foot long steel cable sutured into the cup and bone.... So basically what I do is tinker around in my garage the best I can, play around on my laptop. Work with my Johnson American Bulldog and read... I LOVE TO READ. Right now am finishing up Team Of Rivals: The Political Genius Of Abraham Lincoln and when I am done with that I will read a Civil War book on the Battle Of Gettysburg....

Everyone has such great careers....
Like some I have done just about every entry level job possible, Hated them all lol. I am now in retail at a store in Raleigh nc called Creative Playthings(enjoy it a lot to be honest) I play on swing sets all day :)
I have a passion which is any thing cars and am a NC vehicle inspector/ ASE cert. technician just don't enjoy fixing others problems because of lack of maint. I own a Volvo 850 and never get tired of the look on peoples faces when they cath back up to me at the next light-Did I just lose to a VOLVO- Yep ya did. I have worked for bill davis racing and do a lot of custom fabrication for engines, Mostly Air flow and exhaust tuning.... Love to port and change air flow designs on "Factory tuned intakes and exhaust" My father is an engineer so I have a go to and studied fluid Dynamics among other things in college, I worked on and owned one of the faster honda's when it was cool pre 1999-2000 all the way up until 2009 when I began a long path towards Rotary motor/RX-7's and now enjoy my Hi-Boost Volvo just not as much as the sound of a bridgy 13b N/A with straight thru exhaust BRAP BRAP BRAP POP followed by a nice flame :) 2 step and bridgy are one of the greatest sounds on earth IMO! worked with Interstate Batts. for a little and began getting sick, found out it was due to lead and sulfuric acid in air, pay was great but came home everyday and took clothes of in garage and into shower before I could hug my wife. Tired of that quick and then found out we are having our first child so I quit and got something that was a little less dirty and much safer.
If you want to make your car faster and don't mind spending a little money PM me and I can help, I offer free advice and can also help you get your vehicle inspected(not illegal just certain cars have their issues) some cars dont have readiness checks like a 96-97 Volvo- Check engine light on.....No problem :)
Any way hope I can help others with info like others help me on this site!
