My story is kind of an odd one. I actually went to school for Law Enforcement as well. Over the years though sadly I've had pretty bad anxiety that has carried with me since I was a young child. I always dreamed of becoming a Police Officer but with the fear that my anxiety could easily effect my job I decided upon an alternate route. For the past 15years I've been in sales management and about two years ago my company decided to internally hire a Computer Technician as the amount in which we were spending for outsource companies to work n our system was so large obviously it would be cheaper to hire someone capable of performing the jobs.
So long story short given my background of computer knowledge from my younger years having a best friend whom his father was actually a Tech for IBM computers, worked a lot at home on systems. I had the opportunity to partake first hand on many of those jobs, naturally I grew a strong interest in electronics. Needless to say I'm 100% self taught with little schooling and capable of performing most technical issues with ease. I did a lot of self studying, etc. the company gave me some tests, I went
through an interviewing process, got the job! Been doing that now for the past couple years as a traveling man Computer Technician for all of North and West Michigan. I absolutely love my job! No joke. When I'm working on computers, networks I feel like I'm on a vacation
