Being a smoking addict it is a battle for me not to smoke again: other than our government making it super expensive - other than it caused me major health issues - other than my father having smoked since he was 10 - died of lung cancer , other than one can't smoke in public places - - - -
I miss everything else about it - vaping isn't smoking

Am I tempted to smoke again - you betcha - especially hard when around smokers at big sporting events where it is permitted (ex. Kentucky Derby) - man just to smoke a fine cigar again.

However - vaping and this great forum of great people has been key to me not smoking since 2009 ( previous 2+ packs a day for over 40 years).

I thank each and everyone of you and the creator of this forum.

I have not smoked in almost 4 months. I force myself to smoke a cigarette everyday at least once. I miss the fast bio-absorption rate of the nicotine in a smoked cigarette. Lets face it. The nicotine in cigarette is felt much faster and stronger from a real cigarette. I generally purchase 18 mg. E-liquid. Vaping satisfies me and I do enjoy the hobby it has turned into.
If anyone disagrees I am sorry. It is just my opinion that the nicotine fix is so much quicker with a cigarette.
Also, to those that believe that vaping is safe, I seriously question that. It possibly may not be as smoking but I can not believe that inhaling liquid vapor and coating your lungs with propylene glycol, vegetagle glycerin, pharmeceutical grade liquid nicoting and food flavoring additives can in anyway be not unhealthy. ( I still prefer vaping over cigarettes ).

I don't miss smoking or cigs or the mess or the yellow crap everywhere I clean or the ashtrays. I do kind of miss the way it kept me from smelling every darned odor around me, though. There are a lot of ugly smells out there in the world (and some right here in my house -- dogs and a cat, enough said).

Here's what I miss about smoking:

- Waking up in the morning and coughing up lots of phlegm
- Shortness of breath
- Worsening of my asthma
- Smelly finger tips, and clothes, having others smell smoke on me
- the tar and several hundred additional chemicals that e-cigs don't have
- spending $150 a month on cigs, instead of $60 a month on ecig supplies
- not being able to smoke indoors, in my car, because I have a child

Yep.....I certainly miss the good 'ole days of cigs.

I'll go ahead and say it: the nicotine "rush." You know, that light-headed feeling after going a while without a cigarette.

But you have to take all of the baggage that goes with it, and I'll gladly go without that, now that I have vaping.

You know I hear that a lot. I never liked the rush. I would never finish a whole cig first thing in the morning to avoid it. I'd take a few puffs then re light it and take a few more a little later. That "rush" never felt pleasant to me.

As a Magna Cum Laude member of the Blue Flame Society, I miss having a lighter handy and being able to entertain a room at a moments notice with an asstronomical gastronomical display of fire. My nickname in the local club is "Shock & Awe." Did you ever try to light one off with a hot micro coil? It's nearly impossible to get it positioned right to ignite the rushing gases and one wrong move and you burn your jeans or your .... It's just a matter of time before some flatulent smoking young punk comes up and tries to break one of my records but that's the price I pay to have given up smoking.

I liked the nicotine rush from ciggies. However I've found that I like the more mellow delivery from vapor even more. I never knew nicotine could be this relaxing before I started vaping. Cigs were more of a quick buzz, while I can enjoy vapor for slightly longer periods. Was never big on the 2-3 cigs back-to-back as I started feeling somewhat sick from just inhaling... well... smoke for such long periods.

The only thing that still confuses me sometimes is the "reward system". I used to do a task (laundry, dishes, cooking, whatever, etc.) then stop to rest and sit down to smoke in one area in our home, a dedicated place that had an exhaust fan in a window. Now I can go about my business daily and vape whenever and wherever I want to in my own home. That still feels awkward sometimes, like I'm missing something, but I have to remind myself...Oh, yeah, it's THIS now, and it's okay. Habits are hard to break.

Other than that, I don't miss one single thing about smoking cigarettes. I ditched them 9 months ago, after smoking for 40+ years, and I'm very grateful for this alternative, yay!

The ONLY thing I miss is how good cloves used to taste. They were so spicy and delicious, but now they all taste like horrible burning death. :( I've yet to find a liquid that has the same spice I so fondly remember.

Welcome to Tasty Vapor

tastyvapors has a pretty good clove flavor! At least to me. I only had cloves occasionally, but this juice hit the spot for me! A bit of spice, cinnamon and clove.. a little numbing too, I like it!
