We all have a good idea of what no one misses about switching from analogs to ecigs, such as smell, mess, cost, health issues, looks and comments, etc. Heck, I can even smoke in the women's bathroom again!

But is there anything you DO miss about analogs?

The #1 thing for me is how I seem to use analogs as timers. One analog is the time it takes for the pasta to cook, two for the bathtub to fill, one for nail polish to dry, etc. A mechanical or electronic timer just isn't as "fluid", for lack of a better phrase.

Fortunately, I have not had to miss smoke breaks at all, especially since I mostly work alone and unsupervised. I can still go out back and watch the crows and squirrels and stars for a few minutes here and there, analogs or not. There's no windows where I work at all, so sometimes I just need to go outside. It's not a fight my boss would likely choose anyway.

I think I would miss carrying a lighter if/when I go full ecig. I have found use for it for other than cigarettes too many times, so I might still keep one on me. It's momentary light in the dark recesses of office equipment is just too handy, or for a quick shrink wrap, etc.

My precious ashtray. I have used the same one since I started about 35 years ago, and I have some truly strange attachment to it. For now I'm using a small one to keep ecig parts handy and if/when I fully quit analogs this one will do the same job just fine.

And you?

I have to say my life hasn't changed that much. I still do all of the things I did as when I smoked.
If there was one thing I would have to say, it would be the solitude that I got when I would go out back and smoke a cig. Now since I vape I rarely go out back and sit on my deck because I can vape indoors. It is getting cold here now so it is okay though:)

I miss not watching movies all day and getting other things done during the day, while I'm in my nine months of not having much work to do (tax preparation business in my home), because I'm sooooo obsessed with vaping, this forum, and all the busy work involved with vaping and ordering stuff for vaping.

When does the obsession wear off, so I can get back to my "normal" life? :)

I miss stinking like an ash tray.
I miss my having to wash the stink out my jacket frequently.
I miss breath mints. I miss my fingers turning yellow and stinking.
I miss people saying did you just have a cigarette, I can smell it.
I miss smelling the stink when I wake up in the morning and walk into the kitchen where I usually smoked.
I miss ............

Agreed, my kids think I'm preaching a new religion! I thought about it earlier today when I was going through a particularly stressful bit of stress. My mind immediately said "I need a cigarette!" Fortunately, my tastebuds took over when I started vaping some 555. I don't really miss too much about smoking now, but I know I would miss vaping if it was taken away.

I work at home most often and my usual smoking spot is a bench on my front porch behind a huge rhododendron. I miss channeling Gladys Kravits and snooping on the neighbors. It's always been truly amazing how much activity there is in a suburban neighborhood during business hours.
