For non-smokers, who cares what they think? I'm not vaping for them, I'm vaping for me. If someone wants to be belligerent, it's not my job to change them. And, if someone is invincibly ignorant, then there's no use in wasting your breath talking to them.
Non-smokers make up the vast majority of the voting public.
The same voting public that is passing vaping bans left and right across this nation.

Actually, it's not really the voting public that is passing these bans, so I must stand corrected.
It is the politicians, who feel they have the support of the non-smoking public.

We need to win the non-smokers over, and we can, but not if we don't try.

Every non-smoker probably knows someone who could benefit from switching to electronic cigarettes.
And it's our job to try and help make that happen, for reasons too numerous to bother listing.

Well said. You make a good point. I think it's an uphill battle, though, because the government needs its tax base, and I don't really think the politicians would know what to do if people really quit smoking. That's why I bought a liter of 100mg nic base, and plan to store it in a box, in the basement, in amber glass containers.

They'll start taxing sugar products and fast foods.

It's already in the works, and they are moving closer every day.
They'll get their money one way or the other.

And yeah, I have a 10 year supply of everything I need.
But the fight must continue, regardless.

Depends on the person and the situation. If its someone I don't know offering unsolicited uninformed advice, I just nod my head in agreement without saying anything. Theres no point in explaining anything to them, anyone with common sense would research before making uninformed claims. Since they lack commom sense or are programmed beyond repair, I won't waste my energy or time with them. You won't get any of your points across, it will be like talking to a brick wall. If its someone that genuinely appears curious or is not condescending or snobby, and asks genuine questions and does not judge, I try to inform them to the best of my abilities.

If its someone passing me by doing the fake hacking lunger cough and giving me the look from a mile away from my vapor, I ask them if they are alright and need medical assistance in a very sarcastic manner. They usually ignore me but if they say its my "smoke" causing their cough I tell them its vapor and urge them to get their lungs checked out in the nearest ER, that something must be seriously wrong for a tiny amount of vapor to make them hack. If they get snobby I tell them to check out their vehicle for emission problems as they might be poisoning themselves and the enviroment with carbon monoxide.

If it is someone I know they usually don't tell me anything and the few that did were informed of the truth and never bothered me again, infact, some converted to vaping after getting the facts straight. Its easier to connect with someone you know about a subject like this

Wife and I have not smoked for over a year. Wife was on 3 puffers 4 times a day. Since she quit smoking and started vaping she no longer needs puffers. Myself, I collapsed on the hockey rink last March, underwent every test known to mankind. Had my final doctor appointment 3 weeks ago and doctor said "I don't know what you are doing different but you have never been so healthy". Told him I quit smoking last Aug and now I vape. He told me "well keep vaping then" He then changed my file to Nonsmoker. No one will ever convince me vaping isn't way less harmful than smoking. I have two example in my own household that no one can ever change or try to twist.

If any one had da balls to tell me that to my face, I'd gleefully reply, "FOAD!"

I'm old, get tired easily and do not suffer azzhats very well.

Now, if someone asked, I'd take a much diff approach...

While this may be true to a large degree for many EX-smokers, I'm not so sure that NEVER-smokers feel this way so much.
Unless of course those never-smokers are hardcore ANTZ types.

But I have spent some time on some quit smoking forums that preach a gospel of various things we here know are false.
And the people on those forums, that preach that gospel, they truly hate us.

And while they think we are causing smokers to stray from the true and righteous path...
I know that they are killing people by insisting that their way is the only way.

Those who stopped smoking by the more conventional ways. are the worst haters.... vaping make them furious and Honestly I can understand that , it must have taken at least a year until they reached to a point where they don't want to smoke , I have a friend that even after a year still struggles .
So they see us with our mod or ego and it drive them nuts

A sugar tax? applied to whom?

A fast food tax? just for burgers or for subway rolls - or maybe only those available before 2007 would be exempt?

Not seeing it.

T

Once the govt decided to get in the healthcare management business, it opened the door to these possibilities and more.
Virtually everything can be either directly or indirectly OR extracted loosely to have an impact on one's health.
Once that "connection" is made, direct regulation or regulation through the tax code follows.

Cigarettes are a great example.
The "smoke-free goal" of legislators if accomplished will mean a huge loss of tax-revenue that needs to be replaced.
And of course, every ex-smoker that switches to vaping is lost revenue.
What would replace it?

NYC has outlawed sugar sweetened drinks larger than 16oz. But not the number of 16 oz drinks you can buy.

The shoes you wear impact your foot health which impacts your overall health.

Just some food for thought......gluten free, low carb, low fat, food that is.,

Quiting smoking with E-cigs was the easiest thing I ever did. Took 3 days, and I've been 9 months without a cig. I believe that quitting may of been easier for me because I smoked organic additive free tobbaco though. As far as the negative people out there go, if they will listenI will talk, but Iwill not have a battle of wits with a unarmed person!

I work with a "lady" (cough!) with a bad attitude and a serious addiction to Benson & Hedges Menthol. Another co-worker & I were vaping on break one day, and Ms. Thang came up & started in with "How you gonna put that nasty stuff into your body?" I rattled off the <5 ingredients in my liquid versus a long list of words she can't pronounce that are lurking in her beloved B&H. Simply shut her down with "I know exactly what I'm vaping. Do you have a clue what you're smoking?" Her response? "I wasn't talking to YOU." ROFLMAO Anyone wants to discuss it, I'm game. I've already turned on several people to vaping and will continue to do so. But come at me with ignorance & attitude, and I'm prepared to shut it down. ;)
