Regardless of their benefit or reasoning behind doing it, I can list a few things I'd like to be changed with the Provari

- Some sort of seal between the battery and the processor chip. I know there's some reason behind doing it the way they have it, like allowing juice to flow down if some sort of mishap happened or something. But whenever I look down the open tube and see the guts, all I can feel is vulnerability.

- Removing the way the Provari fires whenever you check the battery or the ohms. Now that I'm getting into rebuildables, I'd like my Provari to be able to check the ohms before firing so no mishaps happen. I'm going to have to either use my MVP 2 for checking the ohms or buy an ohm meter. That and I always feel obligated to take a mini drag whenever it's firing after I check which is mentally frustrating.

- Decreasing the amount of time you're able to press the fire button 5 times to access the menu. Perhaps I have a defective model, but very rarely, I'll be chain vaping and I'll notice that my Provari isn't firing anymore because when I'm pressing the button, it's increasing my voltage because I must have taken 5 drags too quickly or something. All I know is, I'll be at my computer vaping and all of the sudden I'll think my atty isn't connecting properly, so I'll keep trying to fire after adjusting and all I'm doing is increasing the voltage. Then I'll take a hit and get a mean burnt flavor before realizing I put my voltage up to like 5.8. This has only happened 2 times in the months I've had my Provari and I'm able to prevent it from happening now, but it was a very unpleasant surprise.

That's all I can think of at 5:37 in the morning on no sleep. I'll probably wake up to quotes of people telling me how wrong I am because of the reasoning behind it all, but I personally don't have any negative feelings towards my Provari. I just listed basic stuff that I think about when using it. Good night every one.

I agree with everything you said except the first part. I know what you mean. Looking down the battery tube and seeing the control board sitting there just makes me cringe, but I also know how hard it is to get moisture out of nooks and crannies and sealed areas (like my watch crystal when it fogs up.

If my ProVari takes a dive in a mud puddle, I want to be able to dry it out.

The short circuit protection will take care of that. It will either read the ohms or not fire and show a error code so no worries.

What if, and I'm not sure it would be for me, as I'm not a huge box mod fan, but... What if, there was an east coast meets west coast collaboration-even bigger than when Ken Kesey rebuilt the Further bus and drove out to meet Timothy Leary....

A VV REO mod, using a ProVari board!

... It would be... Wait for it....

LEGENDARY,
The REOVari. It's been discussed. Though not by ProVape and Reo's Mods. ProVape is in bed with Zen at the moment. :firefox:

A ProVari powered, ZenKoted, REO.

So I have been thinking about this alot lately (not sure why) but it really seems to me that they need to future proof it a bit, and thats whats probably holding everything up.

Provape could react to the industry, and pop all of the requested features into the next provari, or they could find a feature we didn't even know we wanted, and bring something to the market that is more capable than the competition.

Like I have stated before, the dna 30 and the mods on the market don't impress me. I think buyers are being taken for a ride, and the sum of the parts does not equal the end result.

The DNA 30 can be bought by any one, for about $50. Thats it. (its also approx what a provari board costs for repair). Then it take someone to put the board into something. A metal tube or box, button, and 510 connection dont cost $200. Of course you have to factor in labor, and doing things the provape way reflects in the price of the provari, but these companies are not doing things the provape way. Many are using aluminum tubes, which is easier to machine, and a cheaper cost of material. Many still are using aluminum project boxes, or the really silly ones, are milling a project box out of aluminum increasing the cost further.

What I would like to see are the following.

1) flat top
2) floating center pin
3) Higher amp limit. Should be able to handle a .5 ohm load at the minimum, put the blame on the battery, not the device.
4) VW- its an industry standard now
5) more options. I would love a full size with the mini engraving, I would also like to see some more color variation.
6) ego cone threading.
7) ditch the spring, give me an adjustable bottom like a mech mod.
8) how about a special edition Titanium tube? Fantastic material, pain in the ... to machine (it gets gummy) would pay additional for it.
9) just a brushed option. The standard gray is fine, and the polished tube is nice and all, but I want it to look like a delorean.
10) a better battery indicator. I like what Svoemesto did with the semovar. Sure I like being able to check my actual battery voltage, but a long press on the fire button should bring up a simple graph reflecting my battery status for info at a glimpse would be nice, however I would like it to be better than the semovar, so just light up all of the vertical columns on the led, and tick them off in sequence.
11) stick with the single button. Keep it simple, but like others have said, make the menu a bit easier to navigate, less presses or less delay, or make it an option to adjust.
12) I also like the semovar's ability to adjust the LED brightness.

7) ditch the spring, give me an adjustable bottom like a mech mod. The spring is a safety feature. One of the more important ones in the ProVari.

Serious? why not, how much do you want, and do you have pix of your work?

I want an Ocelot original, for sure.
Before you jump on this, you should know that new ProVari's are now coming in presentation boxes. BlueRaider's phone is an iDevice, and posts pictures upside down, but you get the idea.

I just got my newest one last week... and no box. :glare: I saw someone else got theirs yesterday with the box. Pretty spiffy.

little birdhouse in your soul
I just bought one a few weeks back and mine didn't come in a box..............le sigh!

I didn't answer this originally because I had just bought it but..........For me:

- more colors would be nice, not required but would be nice. I have the stainless and a less slippery version would be good.
- I can honestly say that the VW feature would be nice. I have one Provari and multiple toppers in use right now and I fried a Protank coil by being forgetful.
- I am used to the menu feature but I wouldn't say that I like it.
- eGo threading would also be nice

Take all that away, those are just my minor beefs with it but my expectations were met and exceeded, I am not sure what would make me run to the computer and buy another one

Mine will probably be here Thursday. Fingers crossed for a box! (particularly because if I had just waited one day to order I wouldn't have had to pay shipping for the ring I ordered)

As far as function goes I don't think the Provari really needs anything done to it. I owned one for quite a while and I only sold it to fund trying out other things. While I had it, it was a amazing; now that I don't have one, in retrospect it is one of the most solid devices I've ever used. The thing(s) that would absolutely-without-question make me buy a future version is if they:

-Either change it to a flat top or make it user-removable and give you the option to change it from standard to a flat top (it would be even more amazing, but not necessary, if they offered 3: standard, 22mm, and 23mm top caps).
-Make the positive pin adjustable, spring loaded, or at the very least make it so that atomizers always sit straight on it (both my Kayfun and GP SnP would sit very noticeably crooked on my Provari mini).

Honestly as far as the menu and pretty much everything else is concerned I wouldn't care one bit if they left it as is. Maybe a higher amp capability, but to me that one isn't really worth listing above. I would jump on one so fast if they changed the two things I listed. Anyone know if/when that would happen?

Dear god I really hope provape does not take these suggestions. The ONE thing that makes them great is the durability which is achieved thru the simplistic design. Lose that and ProVari will be no better than any of the dozens of multi function, multi button, multi problem junk mods you can get right now. People should really be careful what they ask for and be happy with what they have. If you feel the need to sub-ohm, get a mech and do it right. If you want all kinds of bells, buttons, and trinkets with all the problems that go along with them, go buy it... Your troubles await, but I beg of you, don't ruin something great to do it.
