How would you describe/summarise Peruvian food?

From my last visit to one of the best contemporary Peruvian food restaurants in Lima. Not a representation of traditional Peruvian food but each time you eat it’s a literal party in your mouth... like when you try some of the flavored vape juices that we might never have again. Sad story

Large parts of the world will not have problems.

If you're in a country where all the A-brands are American and you generally look to some American made product as the quality standard you still may not need to fear. Exporting tobacco, alcohol, weapons etc. has never been a problem for the USA.

If it would be in this case, vaping shops can switch over to European brands or Asian brands. For the European route you're looking at a possibly difficult transition period and a price increase. For the Asian route you may not get the same QA standards (although some of my personal favourites are Malaysian).

In a situation where vaping is just gaining traction, I feel for your fears and wish you all the best.

Sooooooo....

Where are we all moving to? We could probably get a discount on movers if we do a group buy.

@mikepetro: You up for running another co-op?
I tried a few weeks ago, posted a thread in Co-op Interest forum, but ECF is not allowing co-ops anymore. Had to shut it down.

That’s a tough one. Unique, exciting, different, delicious. There’s just something for every person. I’m a foodie and I’ve tried soooo many types of food, but nothing compares to the variety and uniqueness of ours. The problem is that it’s not very popular.
Peruvian chocolate is some of the best in the world.

The best chocolate in the world is made from Peruvian cacao

I have about 20lb that I use to make gourmet chocolates with.

Also, our coffee is way better than Colombian coffee. Sadly we don’t spend enough money marketing our stuff.
I have some Peruvian green beans that I roast myself, forget the plantation but it is great.

UK & much further East.
Hi Pat, I'm hungry after seeing those dishes!

If the vape industry can make profit in Peru, the wholesalers/importers will find another supplier as quickly as they can if their existing supplies dry up. I think you trade with Russia for example, they have a well developed and expanding vape industry, or the UK where UK made liquid is popular.

Yes, a couple of my first e-juices come from the UK and I know Malaysian e-juices are also quite popular. But sadly these make like... 20% or 30%, being generous, of our market right now. I don’t think prices will rise because they’re already quite high. Not a lot of people have S/. 50 to S/. 100 soles to spend on e-liquid you know? I can’t imagine paying more than that. But we’ll see how this whole situation pans out. So many things can happen in the next few days. Of course our first reaction is to panic a bit but we have to stay optimistic. We also need to stay together and make our voices heard. I hope some authorities lurk through our posts to understand our concerns.

Too bad I don't know any languages other than English, so my choices for relocation are limited. Canada is a strong possibility. I always loved Vancouver. Too bad it's as expensive as NY.

In this age of phones that translate (and track our every move), we can probably get by. ;)

Perhaps they ( Russia ) should assume the title of 'Land of the Free' nowadays ... at least they still allow their populace to participate in online gaming and vaping if they so choose.

A bit off topic sorry but I'm still mad about the U.S. shutting down online poker a few years ago and now this BS with vaping.

Anyway, I do hope things work out okay in your country Pat. The whole situation stinks ( pun intended  ) but as others have mentioned, if there is a void created by this development, I feel certain others will step up to fill it.

Hey everyone! So it’s clear that things are changing for all of you who live in the USA. I truly feel for all of you, and I still can’t believe this is happening. But, what is the impact that this is going to have in all of the other countries that basically depend on the US market?

I live in Perú and in most shops, if not in all of them, most of the juice that is sold is directly imported from the USA. Does this mean that we won’t be able to purchase these items anymore either? And what about new devices? I’m aware that most of them are made in China but under American brands.

I understand that the USA has probably been one of the biggest markets in regards to vaping. How is this whole thing going to impact the rest of the world? Our vape community isn’t that big, it just started growing last year. Stores don’t really make their own e-juices, it’s hard to get good quality ingredients.

I’d really appreciate your thoughts <3
A lot of nations pay attention to what the US does with things like public health and aviation safety. You might hear voices in your nation calling for a flavor ban on the pretext that it's happening in the US. Mosts all governments have a conflict of interest with vaping because vaping impacts tobacco taxes. In the US tobacco taxes and other payments to governments are most of the cost of cigarettes making those governments drug dealers for practical purposes.

I’m sure that things will definitely change here. I just hope it doesn’t become impossible to vape as it’s already expensive :(

Oh don’t even get me started. There are so many things that we’ve copied from the US without question because American governments and authorities must know better.
