What if it’s MORE misleading than we thought?

So they all said to themselves “I think I’ll kill myself today! Why don’t I try to OD?” Not that it doesn’t ever happen of course. Occam’s razor picks stupidity over intent though.

Allow me to break it down for you in simpler terms :: The Lung Issues did not crop up after one hit .. the users kept on using because they wanted the high .. thus, my previous comparison to coke vs crack .. that's Occam's Razor

What i don't get; Why a flavour ban immediately following the tragic deaths and illnesses ? Were the affected people vaping flavoured tainted product because i've seen no-one mention flavours. Why is tobacco flavour ok but not, say, apple flavour ? It doesn't make sense especially knowing that nicotine vaping appears to not be the culprit in this whole mess.
The ramifications of this whole thing being a set-up are terrifying.

Flavors are too successful, and acceptable to non-smokers (kiddies).

They need to have a semi-discouraged vice that BT still controls. It's a compromise position, and I think they've been aware of it since the ?1970's?
So we former-smokers will still gravitate to the heat-no-burn or the closed-cart tobacco flavored non-smoking devices from BT, they'll still own that market, and wash their hands of the youth-vaping issue. And eliminate cigs. Eventually.

Low new-update, supports current tobacco growers/makers/distribution channels. Drives vape shops out of business. And in return, they'll kill cigs if they get control of the market.

Someone shook hands a long time ago. Then there's the tobacco settlement money.

Meh. IDK what we as vapers can do about it if the government AND BT are basically co-dependent in this and/or complicit in this. Whatever influence or rationale there is.

I hate to be defeatist, but this whole thing smells.

The NYTS report came out showing the big increase in youth vaping:
The move is in response to early findings from the National Youth Tobacco Survey (NYTS) that show the number of young people who vape has increased by 25% in 2019 (accompanied by a 28% decline in teen smoking).

I believe this is what prompted the flavor bans.
The media and government is piggy backing the kids "dying" reports.

The government was already in the process of banning flavors in response to the "youth vaping epidemic" They believe youth vape specifically for sweet fruity flavors, even though an 80 year old grandmother likes "Fruity COPYRIGHTDMCA Cereal" e-liquid. They refuse to acknowledge that adults like (require) sweet fruity flavors too.

In my opinion, kids "Juul" for the head rush, not for the flavors.

The black market deaths and hospitalization just accelerated the process to ban fruit flavors, because most of the hospitalization and deaths were young people. A knee jerk reaction that was also fueled by a news media campaign of fear mongering. The fact that those medical issues were found to be from black market vapes was largely ignored, because hysteria attracts viewers.

There is fair evidence that the FDA has wanted to ban e-cigarettes since the Deeming Regulations were first reported. It stems from the Tobacco Settlement Act.

Yeah, their solution has absolutely nothing to do with the problem, but praise them for doing something.
