Yeah better. just to clear it up, I posted because i saw a specific example here of people puffing themselves up as something special. It was just a reaction to that. not important really, but I think it started an interesting discussion, nonetheless.
I can respect that, I've seen it a time or two myself, but not as often anymore.
I say "I walked away" because I didn't want to take you wrong and come in like a bull in a china closet with my reply. I was trying to think of all the ways someone could come off wrong on this forum. Well, there's a lot of them that I thought of!
As for the warnings on vendors sites, I honestly can't see that it does any good. Anymore every Tom, Dick and Marry watches some idjit on Youtube and the light bulb goes off "Well, I can do that!" But they don't understand battery safety, or limits, have no understanding of how much power they need, or the fact that the battery in their new mod is equivalent to 1/4 stick of dynamite in the WRONG conditions, then ..... to the news when things go sideways! I see it more as a CYA attempt, "Hey, if you buy this, don't know what you are doing and blow yourself half up, it's not on us!"
I've got a buddy that's a shining example of this to an extent. Been vaping a little over two years now, works in a vape shop. I got him started on this to quit smoking but he got into cloud chasing. He's got some crazy mods, a Noisy cricket, a dual 26650 mech, just nuts crazy stuff. He kinda gets the batteries limitations, but I honestly don't think he's ever built one of his own coils! He has someone in the shop do all of his builds for him, then just blows clouds. I figure you want to brag about it, you should put in the work? I dunno, just makes me laugh sometimes.
