I liked smoking. I wasn’t worried about dying, I was more worried about saving money. So I could see myself going back to smoking because I still enjoy the smell and taste of a cigarette.
What, me worry?

Neither was I. Health yes, dying no. I got angry when I realized most of the money ciggies cost went toward taxes. So it wasn't about saving money rather it was about wasting money supporting fat lazy bureaucrats
who pretend to control what I can do.

Somewhere in the South
I was less than concerned about death. I was concerned about a long and debilitated dependent life.
I just remembered the price going higher and higher. That’s what kinda jumped started me into vaping. Don’t get me wrong, I was concerned about my health but not enough to put the pack down.

Well @vapdivrr , I will once again apologize and merely state I was answering questions that you asked. But, I wasn't upset then nor am I now, nor was I offended at you calling my argument childish, etc. I was merely answering the questions that you asked. I don't really feel that I need to do more than what I did above, and am doing now, it's a philosophical statement and there was certainly no offense on my part, and if you are offended, I apologize. I tend to answer questions that are asked of me and more often than not (especially these days) honestly.

But once again, it was not my intent to offend you with my dislike of hypothetical scenarios. I do dislike them, and you asked me why, so I answered. If it's a good thing for you and others, that's perfectly fine with me. Etc

So, I apologize if you felt it was Much Ado Over Nothing.

Oh no...He's totally serious..Don't you know?
Not every one has read Ayn Rand or George Orwell
Both should be mandatory. Unfortunately, Rand never was, and my daughter says Orwell isn't anymore either...

The problem is that in the situation I mentioned many of the units were properly installed but FPL blanket banned their use anyway.
I'd tell the power company: "Listen, you're more than welcome to pull my meter, thereby ensuring that there's no possibility of out-feed from my house, but if you think I'm gonna shut off my generator before you have service restored, well, I have a couple of German friends named Heckler und Koch who might object..."

Orwell was better, but taught too early. LOL.

I am afraid I found Ms. Rand to ah, be more of a really terrible romance writer with her undergraduate thesis in bits and pieces kind of thrown in there, and it was a giant yawn fest whether assaulted by train stations, cigarettes with gold dollar bills on them (although I am 100% sure she smoked, given her descriptions of said tobacco, she did that on and on and on for pages it seemed like, LOL) the secret society of capitalists, and I gave her a chance I read several of her works TWICE, and 17 when I started a couple, and again post master's degree.

Now, I am sure I have truly offended someone, and I deeply apologize and there is this lovely 70s or 60s sort of vibe to the idea that philosophical theses and tenants could be expressed in the novel format.

I'm afraid she was required shunning in my philosophy department, like ,if you were a Rand fan, you never mentioned it TWICE, let me put it that way. LOL, although I will admit, like any philosophist of any era, we had our sins. It was not at all uncommon to see two bereted philosophy students trying to argue mirror-therapy and Lacan, and it was IMMEDIATELY self evident that neither knew what he was trying to impart about the facet of human consciousness and whatever it would go.
"No, but Lacan said, I think, that the moment of ego awareness and deep recognition of the self occurs when the child first notes its ability to make the picture change, via ego esprescion of le self."
"Lacan had a kid????????"

So, we certainly had our share of sins, and I was known as the sane and smart philosophy major of my day, and all the teachers would vie to have me in their seminars and I was the department's part time secretary but you know I stuck to the classics. My thesis was on the differences between Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle.

A lot of philosophy majors are a bit hazy on the fact that Socrates and Plato were two different people.

LOL..

I agree, Im shocked at how vaping nicotine doesnt appear to be addictive like smoking cigarettes.
I can play around with high and low nic levels and vape nic free for days to reset my tolerance to it.
The first time I went nic free I was surprised how easy it was. The hand to mouth, mouth to lung and exhale is a far stronger habit for me than nicotine.
I do enjoy the very mild and sustained euphoria of nicotine use and the way it feels kind of "right" for me but nic doesnt seem to be the "MOST. ADDICTIVE. THING. IN. THE. WORLD. EVER." I was lead to believe for all those years. I think its actually quite piss weak as far as addictive things go when just vaping it.
Everyone is different though.

Tobacco and its 599 chemical additives work together to produce an addicted smoker. Nicotine by itself in a vape mix satisfies, but doesn't create an addiction from which you have to go cold turkey to cure or use a supplement to wean yourself. The article below addresses the addiction and provides some insight into how cigarettes are designed to create a smoker who returns over and over like a lab rat to buy another pack of smokes.

I have a small 5000 watt gas generator that I use if the power's off for a long time, especially during the Winter. I just flip off the 200 watt main breaker and back feed my dryer plug with a 10-3 cord that I made up for that purpose. It runs lights, a gas stove (with electronic controls), and some small appliances as long as I cut all breakers off except the 2 or 3 that the generator will power at once.

I use it maybe once every year or two when an ice storm takes a tree down into a power line. I learned the hard way that gasoline engines need to be run empty of gas and stored properly to maintain start and run capability when needed! It's no fun pulling a carb off to get the gunk out when it's 28 degrees outside.

The smart way to power a standard gas generator is with a propane tank. There are inexpensive kits available for that purpose. Most any small gas engine is propane compatible.

Back on topic, if vaping becomes illegal I'm covered as long as nic is available. My unfrozen nic turned a reddish brown color after two years at room temp. I finally walked the bottles around the yard and drizzled it on fire ant hills. Funny, the fire ants didn't come back this Summer! I guess the Queens got nic'ed.

My new one liter bottle has been rebottled in glass, placed inside heavy duty zip locks, and stored in a box in the bottom of my zero degree upright freezer. I need to order another and do the same with it.

Amazing how that process is allowed
