Got my new stuff today that I have been waiting for. New purple battery, new gun metal PT, new purple PCC and a boat load of prem flavors.

Tasted all flavors--yummy!
Tested PCC--great!
Testing PT--awesome!
Tested new battery--not too happy.

It's the *new style batter* I presume; has the new logo on it. I had been especially waiting for this battery simply cuz it's purple. But, the draw is very airy, the LED is intermittent, and the vapor doesn't get warm like my *older* batteries make vapor.

I'll drag on it, and drag on it, and drag; hardly any taste at all. I gave it a full charge to see if it would improve. I drag, drag, drag, but no change in performance. The LED goes off and on during a drag. Sometimes the LED will stay on but the vapor doesn't warm up like on other batteries; sometimes the LED will shut off after a second or two of starting a drag.

I can put the same carto on an older battery, and the vapor is warm and I get much more flavor and hit. On the new battery, vapor is not warm, hardly any flavor and no hit.

Is this a bad battery or just the way the new ones are? And if it is the way the new ones are, then what can I do to make vaping from it better?

:) @ TheLook

Where the carto screws into the battery. The idea is to block off one of the holes. You want to snap it off flush or even lower than flush. You're trying to block off one of the air holes. I did that with my latest battery.

Ok.

Blocked off one hole--got better
Blocked off two holes--even better
Blocked off half of another hole--perfect:)

Thank you so much! I was worried it was a bad battery. Not fond of the idea that I'll have to do this every time I change a carto or after charging it, but if it works them I'm gonna do it.

I have run into this on occasion and found that there are two variables....the battery and the carto. Makes it tough to determine which one isn't quite right. I went the adjustable air valve fix. Cut a ring off a condom, slide it over the battery-carto seam. Adjust it until you have the right air flow.

Hmm. Another great idea. Thx!

If I had to guess, I'm gonna say the battery but I really have no idea. The same carto that didn't vape on the new battery, vapes very well on my older battery.

Can't take credit...I read about the ring method many times around the forum. I have one auto shorty that just would not give me anything...until I put a ring on it. On the otherhand, I have run into cartos that won't get anywhere on any battery....but work with the ring. So I cut rings for all the autos and they stay on each all the time....in case they are needed. Just slide them into place when I get a bad connection.

Not going nutz anymore, :). I think we figured it out. Three holes blocked and it's good! Design flaw maybe?
I was curious if the toothpick method also helped you with the led light going off and on during a drag? I have a battery that does that- I have 2 newer style batteries , but only one does that same thing.

Yes! I broke toothpick ends into 3 of the holes and it's working perfectly now. Next I'm gonna try Maxx's condom trick.

Yes it's the Auto's...
Sorry V4L...I HATE the larger hole auto's. I almost passed out trying to get any vapor from a larger air hole auto.

Someone...Alynn...Help Me here:

The Auto's are activated by airflow. Essentially, your draw is what turns it on...But with these new larger hole batts, it seems like more air is being drawn through the air holes on the threads (between the batt and the carto) instead of through the body of the battery to activate the switch. I almost threw mine out the window....until I blocked all the holes with plumber's tape.

On the other hand, the Manuals with the larger airholes...FABULOUS! Because you don't have to depend on airflow to activate it...
