Plumbers tape wouldn't be easy to remove? IDK; never used the stuff before.

Plumber's Tape would be easy to remove. It doesn't even have adhesive on it. It's just a thin stretchy plastic. As far as I can tell though, it comes in standard sizes so you would need to cut it to the proper width.

I even used a piece of scotch tape.
Pulled a 1 1/2 in piece off the roll and then cut a sliver off down the length of it (so I had a 1 1/2 in length of tape that was about 3mm wide). It was the perfect size to wrap around the bottom thread of the batt to cover the holes only and not impede screwing a cart on the rest of the threads.

Yup - "plumbers tape" aka Teflon tape - is used to wrap around the threads of pipe fittings to make them seal better and make them easily unscrewed later (so the metals or plastics don't bond together over years of use). You just stretch it tight as you wind it in the opposing direction so it stays on when you screw the pipes together. No adhesive, just stretchy Teflon and plastics (pvc, I believe)

THe holes on the autos were supposed to be smaller than on the manuals, but our supplier screwed up, and there was no time to correct it before CNY. And I think, but cannot confirm, that there were some faulty switches as well. Because of these and other issues, we have left our original manufacturer and are now working with a new manufacturer which is going to not only correct the hole sizes, but are also working on an improved vacuum switch design.

Ah. I must have the new style ones... darn!

FWIW to others with this issue, I found the 'cut the end off of a condom' method to be most convenient to work around this. Real easy to slide the ring onto the battery, unscrew, charge/change cartos, slide it back on... Cutting at a slight angle helps too, this way you can adjust it to allow at least 1 air hole to stay open.

It's annoying as heck but we know you guys will make it right. :)

I find the plumbers tape to be a good idea. Not only did the Adrenalyn and CatMommy suggest this, but I also found this tip in another thread about this same issue. I can't remember the member's name, but he said to wrap the tape half way covering the battery's holes. I'm gonna try this method as soon as hubby gets back home as I do not know where he has the tape. :)

No, not taping the threads themselves. I would have to cut a sliver of the tape and tape around where the holes are only. Apparently it doesn't do any harm. I think CatMommy posted that she did it to her battery just before she was about to throw it out the window, lol. Her post is on the first page of this thread, I believe.

I just got my new portable case VP King kit and I love it! However I was having the same problem, too much air and I had no clue what was up until I came here to look.
Is there a fix for this yet or do I have to go on using the cut condoms?
Bummer that a new product has to be modified to work right. I love this kit, but I really dont what to have to stick rings on it to use it.
Anyone know what is up with this? Do the premium carts do this too?
Thanks for any help you can give me !

Currently, to my knowledge, the only issues are the regular size automatic batteries. The manuals and all other sizes work as expected. The prem cartos are not affected by this at all. And, the only fix there is for it are the ones that have been discussed so far in this thread....so far. Rest assure, there will be a better battery released very soon as that is what Leaford is working on now.

I really appreciate the help , thank you! Please bear with me with just one more question? Am I understanding that if I get the premium cartos this will solve the problem?
I am rather new at this still so not so knowledgeable.

I smoked analogs for 40 yrs 2 packs a day and in one month quit entirely when I discovered vaping. This website has a lot to do with that and I am so grateful to everyone on here that is so generous with their knowledge

The premiums will not fix any problem you are having, they are just better vapor and flavor than the older carts. I'm not sure exactly what the problem is your having, are you using auto batteries? Because in my opinion they are a little "airy" my advice would be to switch to a manual and try the premium carts and you'll be very happy--it takes vaping to a whole new level. It all comes down to preferences :)

The new style battery was made to accommodate the prem cartos. But, with the design flaw in the auto reg battery, it's not working the way it was created to work. But, you can use the prem cartos with the other batteries and with the new PT and see a significant improvement. But, there are some temp fixes for the reg auto until the corrected ones are available to purchase on the site.

I started vaping just over a month also and have learned soo much invaluable info and it's all thanks to this board. :)

:)

One the wkends and while at home, he does not have the urge for a cig. As a matter of fact, there's no smoking in the house anymore.

Now, when he's at work, that's a different story and it's usually only 3-4 cigs. He's building a race car and took it for a drive yesterday...he had to have a cig when he got out cuz of his nerves. He was shaken up; not from fear, it was adrenaline.

I got him a menthol sampler in 24 (the first pk was 36) and he says he likes those a lot better but hasn't picked a fave yet.

That's great! Eventually he won't even like the taste of cigs! Some people just take longer than others, but with such a great supporter by his side I know he'll be smoke free! :D
