Just a curiosity question here. I've always been a very contrary person (nothing made me want to light a cigarette more than one of those TRUTH commercials).

Browsing the net, I happened onto a vid about whether ecigs are safe and that the big tobacco companies will have their puppet FDA ban ecigs.

As soon as I heard there was an alternative to smoking that big tobacco opposed, I had to try it. My passthrough, cartos, and juice arrived a little over a week ago and since then I haven't had one cigarette (from 1-2 packs a day).

Like I said, I'm contrary. I believe half the reason I smoked so much was self righteous people telling me it was bad for me (I always responded with wide eyes and a surprised, "Really?!? Is that why there's a warning on the box?")

So tell me, what made you want to try?

First and foremost
I WONTED TO LIVE

I was tired of
Not being able to breath
Not being able to play with the kids in the yard
Not being able to walk up 2 flights of stairs without gasping
Not being able to walk in to a room thinking that everyone could smell the last smoke I had
Tired of the Car stinking
Tired of my clothing stinking
Tired or me stinking
Wonted to get healthier
Wonted to see my grandkids get married (there still babies)

This list could go on for days with me.

Started Ecigs about 6 months ago went from PAD + for over 30+ years to 0 in a week and feel better than I have in well as long as I could remember... this is just my 2c

For the past 6 months or so, I've been thinking about giving up the analogs because my breathing was horrible and I coughed almost non stop but I've had no success in the past with patches or cold turkey. While chatting online with a friend of mine, she mentioned that she started vaping and she loves it. She explained a bit to me about what it is and I started to look into it. I spoke with the hubby about it because he's also been wanting to quit analogs. After he spoke with a friend at work who knows people who have raved about vaping, we ordered our first kits at the beginning of this month. I love vaping and want to give up the analogs for good but we had problems with our first kits and had to wait for replacements to be shipped to us, so even though we didn't quit analogs altogether, we did cut them down by at least half. I'm now thinking we bought the wrong kit for me so I'll be upgrading at the end of this month. I'm sure with my new kit, I'll be analog free for good!

I'd wanted to quit for sooo long. I'd tried cold turkey, patches, gum Champix (I think it's what you guys call Chantix). There are also around $20 for a packet of 40's here.

I was at an Australian forum looking at a gadgets sub forum for some e-reader info and I saw a post with 80 pages dedicated to E-Cigarettes.

I thought this must be a joke but I started reading and was totally amazed that this was for real. I read all of those pages and saw there was a part 2 with a similar number of pages so I read that!!

Amongst those pages were various references to this forum so I came over here and read till my eyes were bleeding. I ordered an eGo within about 1 week of reading and haven't touched an analogue since!! 2 weeks ago today.

I started vaping after my bff started talking about it. It sounded wonderful! I had no problem quitting smoking, but I could never Stay quit. I have been vaping for about 4 months now. Since I found my holy grail of ejuice, I will never ever go back. I can breathe now, I don't cough up chunks every morning, and the smell is Gone. It makes me happier, healthier and much more satisfied.

I vaguely knew they existed for some time, but I thought they were purely novelty items. Then my roommate told me about a guy at work who switched from analogs to e-cigs. This impressed me because the guy who switched was almost never seen without an analog in his mouth. I figured if he could quit, there must be something to it. I went ahead and purchase a 510 kit from the vendor he used, but after some post-research found ECF and have learned a lot! I had shortly upgraded to an Tornado/eGo.

Since then, it was like buying a new car, you start to notice other people who vape. I found a few other people at work who were vaping and now I've got a buddy who I share info and gear with.

My daughter was born four months ago. I would go outside to smoke and the wife would tell me to wash my hands before I picked up the baby. My daughter however would fuss and cry when I picked her up.

Then one day at work I caught a real good whiff of one of the other guys coming in from his smoke break and he stunk and I realized that's what my daughters brand new nose was smelling.

Something had to change.

I remember seeing an ad on Craigslist a while back of a local guy selling kits, and it got me curious. I dont remember what kit it was he was selling, but I saw something on Woot recently, or a comment from someone there, and started to do a little research. I found this site and read the recommendations, and a few days later, ordered my 510 kit from Cignot. It's been 2 1/2 weeks so far, and Im down to around 4-5 analogs a day. I wish I could get over those couple a day once and for all, but Im enjoying the 510. A little more maintenance than I thought at first, but I guess Im still in the learning stages yet too. All of the other items from the above posters were on my list as well. WI tax's are BS as well!

I saw those Xhale things at the 7-11. They were right on the counter and there were a few people in front of me but the line was moving pretty fast. I couldn't really figure out what they were; it seemed like they were some sort of cigarette or hookah or something but the line was moving so fast I just didn't have time to investigate.

So, having a curious nature, I went home to google them. I stumbled onto this forum almost immediately and started looking around, not really understanding what I was reading about but piecing it together bit by bit. Still wasn't sure what those Xhale things were though, mostly reading a bunch of acronyms and numbers.

Somehow I found myself in the 'success stories' area of the forum and I finally got what was going on. I think I read that whole section all the way back to the first thread. That's when the real investigation began. I ordered my 510 kit and juice that same night and watched about every youtube video out there until the box arrived and by the end of the week my eGo was in the mail too.

I still never tried that Xhale brand, but I thank them everyday.

My husband convinced me to try them. He came home from work telling me about them because he had heard about e cigs on a radio show. I did a little research and order my first e cig that night. I'm not analog free yet but am hoping to be soon. I ordered another kit and am waiting for it to arrive and am planning on ordering the KR8 this week. I love vaping its tastes so much better.

My wife and I have tried just about everything on the market to quit smoking with less than positive results. One day at work I was out in the smoking area when a guy came out and had an E-Cig in his hand. I asked him every question i could think of about it and when I got home I hit up google, ended up here and read my ... off. When my wife came home from work I discussed it with her showed her some videos and ensured that any questions or concerns she had such as what is pg were answered. In the past she was always the one to approach me about quiting but this time I started the ball rolling.

I ordered 2 510 kits within 2 days and the rest is history. We have not completely given up analogs yet (down to 4 or so a day) but I am sure that day is fast approaching.

I got irritated when we had yet another tax hike - about $7 on a carton (April 1, 2009), when they had already gone up several times in the past year. I also liked the idea of not dealing with the smell, the yellow everything and the ashes on my keyboard. I wasn't really thinking about health concerns. I didn't really know one way or the other and I'm still not 100% convinced, BUT I don't see how they could be any worse than smoking health-wise.

My never-smoked-in-her-life sister came home from work one day and told me this girl at her work had one and that she really liked it and that she had quit smoking because of it....and she (my sister) asked me if I'd ever heard of it. I told her no......but it got me curious. So......I got one from the mall kiosk (big mistake, but it worked...and it got me here!) After about 4 days of research on this forum, I ordered my 510. I loved it and couldn't believe that it got me off cigs without much effort. I have since upgraded to an eGo, spent about a million dollars on extra everything and gallons of juice, have given up analogs completely. I have since passed along a kit to my other sister...the one who does (did! Yay) smoke.....and the rest is history. I love being a non-smoker after 40+ years, and I owe my non-smoking sister for introducing me to it just by accident.

Honestly, here's how it went down.
I've been smoking since I was 13.
When I was 17 one of my homies got an electronic cigarette. He brought it over to my house and I was all "wtf is this?".
I tried it and honestly it was pretty great. There was the throat hit, and you could do it in the house. I fell in love with it at once.
So months go by, I'm now 18 and am making some money and realized how expensive cigarettes are.
I was looking up electronic cigarettes and found this forum.
I've been on it for a good week, and I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my debit card so I can buy my eGo :).
