THE BLUE ONES! THE BLUE ONES! Sigh... Language barriers in a Kwikee Mart can be such a problem. Pall Mall lights - how hard could it be?

This is me ... "can I have two packs of Pall Mall blue 100's please". Before that it was Misty Lights, and before that Virginia Slim Ultra Light. I kept changing to whatever was cheapest. :D

Me: You got a carton of yellow American Spirits?...Or any cartons at all? (Smallish town, unpopular brand, I'd take what I could get)

Them: Ummmm... *searching for a while, only rarely coming up with the goods*

Me: That's okay, just gimme all the blue, yellow, and orange packs you've got.

Them: All of them?

Me: Yep, all of 'em.

Sometimes I'd hit the jackpot and walk away with a couple cartons worth, but more often I'd have to go from store to store collecting 3 or 4 (or zero) packs at a time until I had enough to last me a while. The place I always hit first mentioned a few times that they would start keeping cartons in stock for me, but they never did.

It was easier when I was smoking Marlboro Light 100s. *ahem* Excuse me, Marlboro Gold 100s. (I never called them that, either. :p)

Due to being on fixed income, retirement, I bought the cheapest brand at my convenience store. Time Ultra Light 100's. I really kidded myself about the Ultra Light part.... Anyhow, they were popular because they were cheap. The store by my house was frequently out of cartons, so I spent lots of time watching them gather up individual packs, and then tell me they only had 8 or 9 - sorry. Down the road to another store because the carton price was quite a bit cheaper.

Do. Not. Miss. Those. Trips.

Salem light 100's please. No, not the slims. In the box. Yes, but not the slims. No those are.... $50 a carton? Nevermind. Pall Mall light 100's please. Whaddaya mean they stopped making those? Fine, Pall Mall Menthol 100's please.

Customer behind me: "Wow that's a mouthful!"
Attendant: Oh you mean GREEN??

I coulda quit by then! Then they brought back the Lights, but started calling them WHITE, so then they got confused and would give me BLUE because those USED to be called LIGHT.

Jeez oh pete wth? Give me my vape and call it happy.

And still, after almost 7 months they now ask me, "Do you need cigarettes?"

The last year+ I went to a certain tobacco store only and on Tuesday because they had a dollar off a carton on Tuesdays. I didn't even have to ask. I'd walk in the door and before I'd get to the counter they'd have them sitting there waiting for me.
At first it was funny because I have an identical twin brother that also got his there. I smoked (I'm really liking using that word in the past tense) Bailey's Menthol Light 100s, he smokes Bailey's Ultra Light non menthol shorts. After a couple of times of getting it wrong they started doing a double look before grabbing a carton. They noticed he wears glasses,I don't.
I tried Pall Mall greens for a few months back around 09 or so. I swear in the few months I smoked them it took 10 years off my life and I'm still coughing up their after effects.

I used to have to always correct them...

A pack of camel wides... No, these are lights, I asked for Wides - its the short fat pack just under these.

Yeah, smoked wides, too. I still don't know why. Oh, yeah, I do, it was so I could get more smoke, and not think I was smoking more.

My usual was Camel Wides.... Then along comes the Moonlight Tobacco Company ( anyone else remember them?) which was actually a subsidiary of RJ Reynolds if I recall correctly... they had Jumbos and B's, among others. Only tried those 2. Loved the B's - honey cured. Jumbos were... well jumbo, they were wider than regular cigs. This of course was well before you had to call them by a color. Long n short it went defunct no more B's. Then it was Camel Wide lights... and I refused to call em blues. If you couldn't figure it out I'd spend my cash elsewhere.
