Loved the soft packs marlboro lights. Always made me chuckle when I pulled out that last one all bent up. I almost forgot those days but never miss them

And this is why I wanted the BOX, no the other box.

Was it Kent or Bensen & Hedges that had the bent cigarette ad? Anyone recall?

I just went into the store the clerk would reach over and grab my two packs of smokes without me asking. I have been going to that store for years at the same time every other day.

Yep, same scenario for me, too. If I went anywhere else, it was '40 JPS silvers, please'.

Fun thread!

Most of my 25 years of smoking it was just "pack of Marlboro lights please" but toward the end I really hated smoking and was trying to cut back by buying shorter, lighter ones.

Then it changed to "carton of 72 ultra lights please". They never knew which those were, I had to tell em the short silver ones.

"A carton of Newport shorts in the box please." There's a smoke shop hear my house where I'd get gas & pick up my cigs. After a while the people knew me so I didn't even have to ask anymore. I'd pull up & they'd say..."carton of Newport shorts tonite?" Hehehe! I still get gas there & it took them weeks to remember that I'd switched to vaping.

Marlboro special blend lights in the box shorts..... I don't miss that at all. Now when I go to my regular stores for my monsters... They always offer and I say...nope..I vape... No need for those ever again but thanks for asking ...that is the best

Remember the fumbling gas station attendants? The trainees that would fumble through the decorative wall of cigarettes while giving you a look of confusion and anger while an impatient line formed behind you. Mine was always "Camel filters in a box, nope to the left, nope no...the goldish pack, yup those" I must have said those words thousands of times. I've heard hundreds of calls from the eager and fiending mouths of patrons. What was yours?

In a place not far off it will be, No the red bottle of cherry 12mg. No to the left. No on the top...............

I don't know if anywhere in the US does this, but over here most supermarkets have a plastic roll-down thing in front of the cig counter, supposedly to stop kids getting enticed by the fancy packs or something. This made it hell if you'd only got a certain amount of change and need the cheapest possible smokes, or when they were out of your usual smoke and have to decide on a different pack.

A few weeks ago, I only had my evod/ ego setup on me, ended up getting them cross threaded and broke the battery trying to detach them, had to go get a pack of smokes for the time being, "10 sovereign please mate.",
"Blue or black?"
"They do blue ones??? I can tell I've been outta the game for a while..."

Heck I remember when I could buy a pack of smokes at the bowling alley out of the vending machine. No fuss no muss. Cash in, cigarettes out. As unhealthy as cigarettes are there's something to be said about a guys night out, smoke filled bowling alley, pitchers of beer, terrible pizza, and a pack of some unhealthy smokes. Ahhh the good old days. I miss the memories, not the smokes.

I got Monarch light 100's from my grocery store for so long they'd grab my daily pack right away. I switched to Pall Mall's when they became cheaper and I had to tell them every time for a week or so. When I went to the gas station however, it was "no, the blue not orange...yeah those but the 100's...no the long ones".
