My first vape was from an njoy Pro, which was pathetic- little vapor and what there was didn't taste great.

Still, there seemed to be potential so I googled ecigs and found this forum, five years ago.

Just got my new kayfun working well last night... what a galaxy of difference from that first vape. We've come a long way baby.

"This is nothing like a cigarette"

*Big Drag!*. *cough* *laugh* "this is harsher than smoking"

*smaller hit* *exhale through my nose* "Tastes like candy, not bad"

To myself: "I'll just vape and smoke, cut down little by little.................who am I fooling. That'll never work. Gotta just toss the smokes in the trash."

And that's how it all started.

When I had my very very first vape it was a blu cigalike, so I thought well, if this had more vapor and more throat hit it could actually work, that said when I got my first real battery and had my first vape off that I thought, wow, I can do this, I can actually quit smoking with this. I've since upgraded my equipment and do my own builds now, I also make my own juice now but from that day on I haven't touched a cigarette. I think that's amazing because I was a 2 pack a day smoker who had tried everything from the patch to the pills and nothing, I mean nothing worked for me!! Until that day I had my first real vape. I must say I am very very greatful for vaping. Now it's also became a sort of hobby for me as I love to tinker with things, but it has saved me from smoking. I also couldn't believe how painless quitting was. I kept my nicotine at a 24 mg because I didn't want withdrawal and it worked perfectly for me. I can honestly say I didn't have very many rough cravings. Only a few times under extreme stress did I really crave a cigarette. Now it's funny because the cigarettes stink to me. It's strange how that happens. But that's my experience.

My first hit was from a tank never tried the little cigs. I thought well thats not to bad.
A few weeks later I tried one again and hit it 4 or 5 times....Hmm Thats actually good and my craving is gone.
Then I bought a tank and battery from the only vape shop here after the first day I thought I dont think this is going to work this thing sucks.
Then I ordered some better equipment and juice. I got cold chills when I hit it I thought yeah thats more like it. lol
Ive been vaping ever since. Still crave an analog now and then but I have another tank for those days now. All in all Im glad I made the decision to vape I feel so much better now.

My first vape I purchased a disposable blu e cig from the local variety store. Took a few puffs and thought not terrible. I used it on and off for a couple of days while still smoking and liked the fact I could use it in more places where smoking was not allowed. I had a few beers one night and tend to chain smoke when doing this and used the blu and realized at this point I could do it cause it was very satisfying to me and I could do this inside the house as well (double win).

I started to research here for a few weeks and then purchased what I needed and off I went. Been 15-16 months and quit smoking for just over a year.

I'd have to say my first response was "This isn't that great, but I think it's better than cigarettes" as I tried out my first e-cig.

I don't think I really started enjoying my vape until last year when I got something other than the cheap (but somehow insanely expensive in the long run) convenience store e-cigs.

Mine was with a disposable Blu from the gas station, on a whim.

"Hmmm....this is interesting - tastes nothing like a cigarette but it's kinda cool."

Didn't do enough to keep me from smoking, but got me interested in the potential, and it led me here. A couple months of reading and researching (and a couple more disposables), then found my perfect setup (eRoll -- I was still completely in love with smoking and an ego style was NOT an option at that point). 2 days later and I couldn't stand the cigarettes anymore, after 30 years of smoking.

The only part of smoking I couldn't break was the physical act: inhaling, blowing out smoke, etc. So my first vape was a Blu disposable just to try it out. If it didn't work, I was only out $10. My first hit, "Wow!" I was surprised at the throat hit (even though it was minimal) and the vapor. And it tasted better than a cigarette. But I had a trip to Vegas coming up in a couple months and figured there was no way I could go to Vegas and not smoke. So my plan was to vape Blus during the week, and go back to Marlboro Lights on the weekends. Then after Vegas, I'd get serious about ditching the cancer sticks. After the first week of Blu disposables the weekend arrived. I lit up a Marlboro Light and it was disgusting. I had to force myself to finish it. I was hooked on vaping at that point. After a failed Blu starter kit and a little research, I became a Halo fanboy and never looked back. And as far as Vegas went, I vaped like a madman and loved every minute of it.

My first reaction was "Ewww! nasty tasting juice in my mouth". As was my second, and my third. Around that time, I packed the starter kit up and sent it back for the advertised full refund.

Skip forward two years, my fourth reaction was "Hmmm..." lesson: even cigalikes come in different classes. That first kit was truly horrible. The second a few years later didn't work for me, but showed me the possibilities. Within a few days I had smoked my last cigarette.. October 19 2012. These days I'm happy as can be. Rebuildables, Variable voltage/wattage devices, great juices. Not only has vape gear improved dramatically, but I've learned a lot.
