Hitt, I don't know about that. My best day at work was the day I received my permanent layoff. That is approaching ten years ago. For the first and only time I was able to collect unemployment for six months. I'm now pretty well retired from even my volunteer work as of this week.
They had hired an FTE over a year ago. He isn't real good, but he tries for someone suffering from ADD. A few months ago they brought in a "volunteer" that I thought was bucking for employment. She's a 70 something Brit who has a different concept than I on how to move books/tapes/cds/dvds. They hired her last week and I spent a little time talking to her on Monday. I pretty well decided during that conversation that I would only work if they got backed up, gave her my number and bid adieu. The kid isn't going to last long. His ADD and her introversion are already colliding, but even when he leaves I'm not sure I want to work with her. She would be too much like going back to work.
