I don't always but I have Lifelock monitoring for me and I always check before I go in for a loan since they're going to be checking it. I like to be able to quote it right before they go to check. Don't know why but figure if they don't jive we'll have a conversation.

I try to not watch my score at all at the moment, honestly, But, I'm in credit card consolidation. Mostly health stuff, kid stuff and other stuff. Sometimes it's just a relief to have no credit cards, I have this horrible tendency to view them as "imaginary money" and they so aren't. So consolidation gives me a break on that (at least now while I have a great job and benefits etc.) I nearly died when I got my first paycheck, it was the biggest paycheck I had ever received for 40 hours, heh. Also, when I got 3 month supplies of all my meds but two this past week, I nearly lost my mind with joy, the chick was all apologetic when it was like 45 dollars. I was like, "Are you kidding me I was on Medicare only I used to pay more than this at times for ONE medication." LOL.

So yep I'm big fat Daddy Warbucks (I actually have no idea what that means and I hope it's not insulting) but my credit is in the toilet. The husband has good credit, but is still retired.

We are sincerely hoping we can jointly buy a house with this setup... But, IDK,. Guess we will be finding OUT.

I will not be making another order of Swedish snus in a while, unless General white is cheaper from there. It seems to be harder to find around here lately. I still have not found the cure for like, the seeping problem. Heh, I guess it's good I can use General white at work, still have not vaped ONE time and no one knows I do. Etc. I save the good stuff for chores, etc.

I COULD still go the really dark lipstick route but I am drinking all the time (dry mouth) that may go equally as badly, plus I don't want to terrify small children.

Guess it could not hurt to try it over weekends etc, There is very little room in my freezer for frozen food ATM. Heh..

Jumping in.

5+ years a vaper, around the same for snus.

I do appreciate a good alkaloid or 5. Vape 50mg nic + 10mg WTA at 50 watts. Snus still beats that relaxation feeling.

I'm into mini portion, mid strength ATM though. Comfy in my mouth. Giving the goteburgs a good run. Bought 2 rolls a while back.

Used more snus early on in vaping, prior to coughing up for WTA, which i thought was overly costly a while (and it was, before more companies opened)

I'm generally more pleasant to be around, even with 1 pouch a day. I have some brain cooties going, that I think snus helps with.

I'm in australia. So I import from sweden, and pay $1000 kg in tax and excise. Translates to an extra dollar per gram. And customs are slow. So I shop in bulk every year or so, and freeze it.

Some familiar faces.

Oh, and ving fudge is my favourite

Anna, I feel your pain some on the credit card thing. I’m not in consolidation but didn’t have any credit card debt until both kids started driving and needed car repairs. Also my oldest is in college and I’ve been paying her half of rent for her apartment as well as trying to cover tuition. Anyway, my credit card balance got to what is uncomfortable to me so I’m trying hard to pay it off and don’t plan on carrying a balance again after that if I can help it.

Welcome to the thread. That sure is a tough tax rate. Just curious if shipping is expensive also? We average $30-40 here for shipping from Sweden.

Welcome to the dark side Doffy! My jaw dropped when you said you were paying a dollar a gram for snus! So you're paying something like A$28 or about $20 US for a can? That is outrageous. What are they selling a pack of cigs for there?

I'm pretty sure when I visited there on a business trip some 20 years ago I had to have bought some cigarettes there as it was a week in Australia (Parramatta and Sidney) and a week in Singapore before heading home. However I can't recall how much I might have spent. There is the possibility I just brought 4 cartons with me though as that probably was how much I was smoking back then.

OMG! I just googled around. First, snus is banned (all smokeless) for sale n Australia. Found a reddit where they were talking snus cost a year ago. Three people posted. Two said around A$22 for a 24g tin and one said he paid A$61.

Then I checked cigarettes and it said the proposed cost for last year was A$60 a pack! I would have been paying A$150 a week to smoke. That around $110 US. I guess the poor either quit or steal.

You know, I have a bunch of snus I am probably going to have a hard time using due to very "me specific" reasons. I mean a LOT. If you would like 20--40 cans I'd be more than happy to send some to you, honestly. I will caution, most of it is on the stronger side, they aren't small portions. They're the larger, stronger portions. I bought a bunch for work, but long story short, I can't use them at work and it will take me an eternity to use them at home.

But, if you'd be interested in that, I'd be happy to send some snail-mail to Aus and trust me, my packaging skills mean they don't get opened at customs, etc. Just PM me, and I can eat the shipping cost. It might take me a minute to get them SENT (bit busy all the time) but I'm always happy to help a fellow AUS user as an AUS expat.

Make a list of what you have. Maybe some of the folks here would be interested in buying some and that would help offset the cost of your next order.

I just looked in my deep freezer and found... 0 cans. The local Speedway quit carrying General after they did a remodel, so I'm hoping something I want goes on sale very shortly. I suppose I could try the Wild Bills in Flint, but driving 20 minutes compared to 3 sounds awful.

They're calling for 6 to 9 inches of snow throughout the day tomorrow. I'll see how it looks tomorrow before deciding if I'll play hookie. Being on afternoon shift the roads are usually decent around 2pm on my drive in and I'll do 10 mph the entire drive home if I have to. This early in the year people have "sick days" to burn and it can make a very easy work day for those that brave the weather.

20 minutes could end up being a lot longer in the weather you’re having. I’m still fairly well stocked. I never did end up ordering the general X red that I wanted to try. It just came out to too much per can if I ordered it by itself and neither of my regulars were on sale.

I can do that. However, they will not be sold, just postage because well, it's not a big deal and I don't want them to go to waste, and they will.

I will probably just buy some white American General small portions for work, since they work, and it's getting annoying trolling gas stations. LOL.

Yeah, there's no way I will use them all before they go bad, so I will make a list. You guys were SO HELPFUL in the beginning there is no way I could charge any of you. Etc.

Fireplace reassembled and it looks good. Even took out a couple of the air tubes and dropped the baffle and insulation and cleaned that out, pretty dirty. The only issue now after allowing the filled hole to dry for two days and then putting another 1/4 to 1/2 inch over the previous 4" hole and another couple inches where the refractory slab was deteriorating.

The only issue was that I asked a question about how and how long I should cure it. The only answer I got was from another user who said 4 hours a day on low heat for four days. I wasn't anticipating that long a period so I think I'll do as directed tonight and call the manufacturer in the AM and get their opinion. The instructions on the tub were nowhere near that lengthy but I don't want all my hard work to crumble away from improper curing. Working in the confined quarters of the firebox isn't easy on old bodies.

I ran into my neighbor up the street when I took the dog out for a walk this morning. I haven't run into him since the first year or two I lived here. He was a home re modeler by trade and retired two years ago after not being able to work for two years due to the wear and tear on his body from the occupation. He got disability almost immediately when he applied and is now on SS benefits at 62. I just felt fortunate that I had a desk job after hearing his tale.

I think about it like this. It would be a good deal for anyone not having to pay shipping from Sweden.

We were in the area and stopped at the tobacco shop. They only had Mint from the General line and then only 5 cans at over $6 each. They did have the new thunder red X that I picked up a can of for $6.

Not even close to Thunder raspberry. There's a mild berry flavor but it's mainly tobacco and salt. Disappointing.
