I certainly wasn't expecting it yesterday when I put my truck sideways just before I got to work. There was a wet snowy mix coming down and the overpass I go under is perpetually wet looking. I saw someone speeding up to me in the rear view and realized it was a coworker I know and she must have recognized my truck. She whipped past me and hit that wet spot and went sideways so I quickly slowed down but also went sideways over it. I didn't think it was cold enough to freeze but boy was I incorrect. We were both fine thankfully but it got the blood flowing.

Glad you both were ok. That's some scary stuff for sure. Reminded me of when I had my low rider truck driving home 50 miles from work and hit a slick patch and put it in the ditch backwards.
Hitt, the new snowblower was effective for two and a half years but apparently, the thrill is gone. We definitely got it but not as bad as it could have been but not as good as I was hoping. It ended up to be more like 6-8". The first 6 were fairly fluffy, I'm glad I cleaned the front deck immediately. Soon after I posted it turned to that famous "wintery mix", better called wet slop. It must have pressed down on that original six followed by another three inches. It ended up as a chute clogging adventure.
I did find how fragile the shearing pins are on the impellers. The augers so far have been fine, I think I sheared one with a stick one of the last couple years. I sheared but the induction impeller and the discharge impeller pins and that pretty much destroyed the functionality. It took me a bit to figure out how to knock that back impeller's broken pin out but it will be a lot easier next time now that I figured it out. Unfortunately living where I do, I'm going to be replacing a lot of them since snow has a tendency of braking off branches that get buried in decent sized snowfalls.
I have another fractured tooth. Now I'm balanced, two on the top on each side and one on the bottom each side. Getting old is so much fun.

We had a track drive Honda snowblower at work for a while. It kept breaking shear pins and was quite the pain. My boss finally got a plow for the truck a few years ago.
Trust me, replacing the shear pins in the Cub Cadet is a breeze compared to my old Sears model. Replacing the auger pins and the front impeller is a breeze. You can see what you're looking for. The back is working blind but knowing where the hole is makes it much easier.
I also plan on hitting HF this weekend. 30% off on everything under $10. I have a small hammer I bought for using with my chainsaws that is in my chainsaw bag put away in my shed. I'll just pick another of them up and a set of nail punches plus a bag and house it all together along with the shear pins and have it right there on the shelf where I do the repairs. When it's cold, you want to fix things like that fast.

Anyone join the air fryer craze? I bought a smaller one, I think it's 5.8qts, but it's been a lot of fun finding things to make in it. We had rotisserie pork shoulder this evening and it was delicious. Still trying to get the timing right but everything has been pretty good.
I also picked up one of those Tovala machines where they send you those premade meals. You just mix the ingredients up, put a card that comes with the meals in front of a card reader on the machine and it cooks to specifications. Kind of like having a chef.
The meals aren't cheap, like $12 a pop (and they have more expensive ones) but I figured three days a week not having to figure out what to eat was worth a try. They have a 100 day return policy and the oven was $199 by committing to 6 orders over a 6 month period. Normally the price was $299. Correction, $150 off wince I sent you a referral link.

We bought a big air fryer earlier this year and use it all the time. Works great reheating leftovers that the microwave ruins like fish and pizza. We've also fried chicken and even made steak.
That's an interesting program Roth. We've been getting hello fresh for a few months now and it's been pretty good and very convenient. It's actually saved on our grocery bill as my wife has a tendency to buy stuff then lose interest in cooking/freezing it and we end up tossing a bunch of stuff.

We bought a small air fryer a couple months ago just to try for fries and reheating stuff. We really like it. Maybe some day the wife will let me get a bigger one like a ninja foodi or something.
Waho, I had an ulterior motive. My GF is Italian and she thinks a plate needs to be filled so portions are always an issue. She even bought larger plates so there was "more room". i kept gaining weight so I started eating less and giving the rest to the dog. Now the dog is getting fat. I can't continue to eat like I did when I was playing sports all the time.
Darn, I'm becoming a cook! lol This is the coolest thing I've bought in a long time. They have a bunch of recipes for store bought food in addition to the food they sell. I saw a recipe for Halibut but couldn't find any frozen in two stores but the second store had a bunch of different types of Beyond Burger and I found a recipe for a sausage sandwich so I picked that up and with a bit of prep slicing up onions, 12 minutes later I had a delicious sandwich. I think I'm becoming addicted to this thing. Oh, the other cool thing about this was you look up the recipes on your smart phone, they have step by step instructions and, once all prep is done, you push start on your phone and it sets the oven up. All you need to do on the oven is hit start.
We warmed up left over pork shoulder at the same time making as making roasted broccoli. Had no recipe for that but I read up on how the warm up cycle worked. It's like two minutes backing on 400, 7 minutes of steaming and a minute of broiling. I decided on 12 minutes and everything was great. Just call me chef Jim. lol

That thing sounds like all kinds of fun. I like all kinds of gadgets like that for the kitchen. If it wasn't for the wife, I'd have a kitchen counter full of gadgets.
I've never much cared for cooking. When she's not around I get real basic- tv dinners, grilled cheese, maybe some hot dogs. The only thing I really like making is batter for pancakes or waffles. I had the greatest waffle maker that made big fat waffles and I loved it until it got burned up when it was sitting on the oven and she turned the wrong burner on. It was an old one and I keep checking the thrift stores but it's been years now so I may never find another one.
I have a cuisinart waffle maker that I’ve had for probably six years or so and it works great. It makes four square waffles at a time.

Yes, I was talking about that in another thread. I just found out a couple days ago that they put it in with the spending bill. So we’ll end up paying 15-20 for shipping plus state tax for vape stuff now with ups adult signature. That is with companies that can afford to meet regulations and stay in business. They don’t even think about what it’s going to do to usps not getting the revenue from all those packages.
Hope they didn't lump snus from Sweden in with that. They ninja'ed snus into a thing here
