I read that it has been discontinued.

What?!!!!

This is starting to get ridiculous. Now I gotta find another brand from Sweden. And I've really grown to like the Jakobssons, too.

I agree! I can no longer order my two main snus that I use every day. I ordered some Kapten mint after reading that it was close to general. Well, it’s not. The tobacco taste is dark and much stronger and no where near as sweet as general. I panicked since some sites stopped shipping to the U.S. and bought six rolls. I have some moose major mint on the way that’s supposed to be close. This is why I’ve been trying to use flavors I have to change the taste of the Kapten.

Snus Armageddon is upon us. Seems all sites are "out of Stock" or won't ship to the US, EXCEPT for Nicotine Pouches, which Everyone has, of all different brands. Seems like they are trying to kill Snus and replace it with the nicotine pouches. Not sure what is going, but that is what I am seeing. Got a sale email from northerner today, they don't even list any snus on their website anymore (which the selection was not great anyway). So it looks like we will have to quit, or switch to nicotine pouches. I am glad I always keep a large inventory, so I have a year or so before I need to decide.

I may give Oden's a try. They have a double mint flavor that seems to be reviewed favorably.

Then again..... Did a test to see what the price/shipping would be through Snus Direct. Then I get this: We are currently experience problems with our Swedish snus shipments. However, we are able to ship orders with nicotine pouches.

So I go to SNUS Daddy. Jakobssons in stock. YES. Throw it in the cart. NADA. Can't ship. Toss in Oden's. 40 can limit. SERIOUSLY?!!!!

Don't know who's hind end I need to open a can of whuppin' on, but I plan on finding him.

If you do get the odens then let us know what you think. I read that the moose major mint was good so ordered two rolls. I’ll report here when I get it.

I flavored a can of the Kapten strong mint last night and brought it to work. I’m just not getting the nice peppermint flavor that General has. It is probably good enough to use up what I ordered. I’m still hoping the moose is better.

OK, I think I see what's going on. Swedish Match owns 95% of Gotlandssnus which makes Jakobssons. And guess who owns Swedish Match? Yep yep yep. Phillip Morris International. This is really starting to chap my hide.
At first I was wondering if they would restrict the jakobsson to US sales like they did with general but everything I see says it’s discontinued.

Well the Super Dry pouches after 4 days do have more of a tobacco flavor, but it is still mild. I think I used a little too much liquid, as they were a little wet, and did not last as long as I would like. I think I might need to go below the low end of what they say for moisture on them. They still seem a little light on the amount of tobacco in them, I like a little fuller pouch than the Fat Boy (I don't know why they call them that as they are not fat). If I were to order any more, I would get the Buster as it is the same size pouch but with 20% more tobacco.

@hittman On the mint, I looked for a clone recipe and didn't find anything, but seen talk about not only peppermint and sweetener, but also a little menthol in them. I don't get menthol, but there could be a little, and that might be what is missing in your experiments. Just a thought.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did a little digging tonight and some people mentioned peppermint oil but I’m not sure if it’s a good idea or not.
There are Food Grade oils, but it would not be good for vaping, but should be fine for Snus, as it is food grade. There are a lot listed on Amazon, just search "food grade peppermint oil". My quick search did say the oil is 4 times stronger than the extract, so it would take a lot less of it.

I received an email yesterday that snus24 is shipping to the U.S. via postnord now. I’m not sure how long the shipping time will be but am guessing it’s much longer than ups.

Don't care how long it takes, just as long as I can obtain the stuff I need. :D

The Root Beer flavor from onestopdiyshop is interesting, not Americana, but not bad after 2 days. I put too much liquid, so the pouches are too wet, I'm trying a couple with a little less liquid, but it is promising for a flavor.

Their website still says shipping UPS and Postnord.

On Google it says this for shipping times for Postnord:

    Delivery times
      • Delivery to Nordic countries can take up to three days
      • Delivery to the rest of Europe can take up to 14 days
      • Delivery to the rest of the world can take up to 18 days
    Customs clearance
      • PostNord may act as a representative for the importer or exporter in Sweden
      • The Swedish Customs Agency is responsible for defining and charging customs duty, taxes, and fees
