Good Morning everyone. And Merry Christmas!

We got about 15 inches of snow last week. I ended up going home early from work on Thursday because of it. They shut down second shift, so I had to work on a Friday to make up my hours. But we made it through without too much difficulty. Our power went out for about three hours. In a town a few miles west of us, they had power out for at least three days. That had to suck.

My Mom had her last chemo on the 21st, and the prognosis looks pretty good. She will go in for a PET scan in January to check on a couple lumps, but the doctors think they are cyst's. I'm praying they are right.

Wolves are the favorite wild animal's of both me and my son. It's a shame they will bring them back from the brink of extinction just to start hunting them right away.... The same happened in Wisconsin.

We celebrated Christmas yesterday with Sherry's family, and will go by my oldest son later today. other than that it will be a quiet Christmas. We will celebrate with the rest of my family in February when my Mom feels better. She said she is just not up to the stress of Christmas right now. That is fine with my older sister and I, but my younger sister is not taking hat well. That's ok, we will get her through it... LOL

Just waking up with:

Hi skrymr. It's good to hear from you again. I'll keep your mom in my prayers. I'm glad that the outlook is good.

We did a gift exchange with one brother in law Friday since he and his girlfriend are going to be at her father's house out of town. Tonight we'll give the kids pj's to open and just hang out. For several years now, we have my other brother in law stay overnight Xmas eve so he can wake up with us to watch the kids open presents.

Merry day before xmas and three days after TWE. It's so good to be alive. No snow here FC, I haven't even had to avoid the bikes yet except yesterday morning when I got a mom alert an hour and a half after I went to bed. I didn't feel awake enough to navigate on two wheels. I'm laying here on my back, using a wireless keyboard and looking at my 46 inch monitor after spending the last three days on getting the MK808 running decent. It's not perfect but for under $100 it's pretty darn good. I had to do a firmware update which was a challenge since it's all googling to find where you find it and how you do it. Then there were still massive problems so I went the root and custom ROM route and it is real close. WIFI is somewhat unstable probably more from a cheap antenna setup but that's for later analysis. I have HD running through it, but I think netflix is an issue with quality so we'll see.

Glad to hear mom's still doing good, it's tough dealing with this time of year. I am probably going nowhere tonight. The gf has been weird since Thanksgiving when she actually made dinner and she's supposed to be making dinner tonight, as I found out Friday. She always went to her sister's house xmas eve, but that changed three years ago when I found her still here after I went to my BIL's house. Then last year she spent eve day in bed and I made quick arrangements to a local restaurant and forced her to go out. I still don't know how the rest of day will work out.

I'm probably going to stay home although my sister invited me/us over. Working on the last days for T so I'm trying to get my goodbyes in while I can. I think he'll be fine through the end of the year, but not sure about the end of January.

So, has anyone here ever tried Death Wish coffee? My son got me a bag for a Christmas present. It's supposed to be a dark roast with 200% the normal caffeine content.

Between that and the chocolate chip/cayenne pepper cookie bars I'm set for the morning.

Yeah, some folks think we are a little strange.... Who knows, they might be right. LOL

    Just waiting for morning with:

It's been a sad day here. 2 firefighters were killed and 2 were wounded responding to a working fire in Greece, NY. They were shot, ambush style, as they arrived. While they all held jobs in various emergency services fields, they were acting as volunteer firefighters during this incident. 4 families are having a horrible Christmas and a fire station family is devastated. These folks drop what they are doing at all hours of the day or night to race to save lives and protect property. This was a cowardly and disgusting act. He knew that if he called in a fire that they would come. The man who allegedly did this was previously imprisoned for beating his elderly grandmother to death with a hammer. His sister is missing today. I hope she is not in the ashes of the fire that eventually took 7 homes. I truly believe there is a special place in hell for people who commit these acts.

This was about an hour from me, and many of my brothers know some of these men. It's been a sad day indeed.

FC, I don't know what to make of this country anymore. We have become a nation with a segment of people that have no respect for other's lives, no morals and no conscience. Why in the world would someone attack people that had nothing to do with your personal issue? Much like Sandy Hook, there is no logic to attacking innocent people. I can understand, not condone, killing someone in a rage over an incident. However this killing for the sake of killing is just getting out of hand.

You have to feel for those poor families of the victims and the people made homeless by his actions.

Merry Christmas, Darksiders. I'm having fun watching the dogs "guard" their present by the tree. They want it so bad they can hardly stand it. Since they can shred a standard tug rope in a couple hours, Santa Paws brought them one you could moor a small destroyer with. :D Out to feed the goats at daybreak, then start cooking.

Merry Christmas everyone. FC, that is sad news. I just don't understand how people can do things like that. My thoughts keep going out to the families of the children that died in that shooting at the school and thank god that my girls are safe in bed. Those kids and the firefighters you told us about just makes me want to cry for all the injustices in the world today. Well wishes go out to all of you here. I consider you to be great friends that I am lucky to have.

Merry Christmas and a special one to TV wherever you are! Hope everyone got whatever the wanted from Santa, I know I did since I bought it myself! :p Re-gifting is so uncool, self gifting is where it's at. :) FC, have you let the dogs loose on that metal piercer yet? My guess is two and a half hours to destruction, unless it's a kong toy, I think they are indestructible .

    What's up, Pete? Merry Christmas!

We will open presents later when my mom arrives. Kongs live an average of a month here. Except for that new food dispenser they came out with. The old girl had that destroyed in under a week even though we were supervising her with it.

Darn FC, you have monsters. What is this new toy and is it still in one piece?

Almost forgot why we are here. I've had xmas snus that I found in the mystery pack where I found the Lucky Strike. I finally remembered I had it this morning and opened it up, the red container. I really like it. Not really sure of the flavor but it tasted like xmas.

    Jules red? Nice Christmas surprise!

I got them a tug rope about 3 ft long, 1 1/2 inches thick, with knots on each end.. They played tug of war for nearly an hour. We has so much fun watching them we waited a while to open ours. My older dog has a very strong set of jaws and loves to chew. The Kong food dispenser screws together in 2 pieces. She figured out on about day 3 that if she just grabbed it in the middle and bit down it would pop apart and all the food came out at once. She's too smart for my own good. lol

Hope everyone had a good day.

Just got back from the inlaws and then a friend's house. My MiL got me a new expresso machine. I've been wanting one for a while but just didn't feel like I had to have one. I tried it out already and it works well. I need to get some stronger coffee than what I have to really make some good expresso. I don't think it's an expensive one but it works well.

Glad you got a new vitamin c maker, hitt. Vitamin c and vitamin n make for a much better day! Check out a new coffee. I think it's called sudden death. Just google coffee with 200% caffiene. Its a black bag with a skull on it. I think it was about $20 a lb.

    Off to work with:
    Thunder orange
    Coffee
