I'm all about supporting local as long as it is financially sound. A few extra bucks to help keep the lights on and I'll buy it, but if it is crazy overpriced I'll go online. VW dealer wants $350 to do a transmission fluid change on my car due to it having the DSG transmission. I was like, let me think about it before we set an appointment. I went online and found it's fairly easy to do yourself, although a little time consuming. The fluid costs around $80 for the five quarts it'll take and comes with the replacement filter. Add the funnel needed to add the fluid and for right around $90 I can do it myself. Same with brakes, I'll never pay for a brake job again after finding out how easy and cheap it is to do yourself.

By saying internet explorer, I assume you mean Edge as MS now calls their browser. I like it but I have never been able to import favorites for some reason. It says it's importing but when finished, they're nowhere to be found.

I've been running Avira scan for hours on it. It's getting close to 90% completed and found two more problems. Also, the Malwarebytes paid version trial ran overnight and found more issues but I won't know what it found until Avira finishes.

I'm more concerned now with figuring out why Win updates aren't working. That in itself is very troubling.

I tried edge and didn't like it. They don't make it super easy to find but internet explorer is still there in windows 10. I think it was listed as an app. Anyway it keeps freezing. Also the Cortana search will only look online and not search files on my computer. I've had three different Microsoft techs do Remote Desktop and it's still not working correctly.

Never realized it was there. I only rarely used it anyway. I ran through Avira and found a couple issues and one more with the malwarebytes software. Something else was screwing up the windows updates but after a few runs in cmd mode, I got that running again and it's in the process of doing over a year of updates.

I'm very suspicious that the 2GB of memory is part of her problem. If it's still running like a dog, I'll probable upgrade it to 8GB for her. It will be my unannounced belated Xmas present. It's not that expensive and should make the PC run decent.

I did that import and eventually found them. Can't remember where off the top of my head but next time I fire up my laptop I'll look and let you know.

    Good work Roth.

I got a new compressor for Christmas but didn't try it until today. The regulator was frozen. I could barely turn it with pliers. I returned it at one store and they were sold out so had to go to another store to get a new one.

    Roth,
Its in the top right corner in the 3 horizontal lines. That opens window for favorites, reading list, and history. It puts the imported bookmarks in a folder for firefox, internet explorer, etc. Under that is your imported bookmarks bar, menu, and unsorted bookmarks.
Unfortunately, it doesn't remember your logins or passwords from the other browser.

You know FC, that was where I tried at least a half dozen times. I almost wrote back that I had tried it before. However, I decided to give it one more shot and it worked. It's still a little clunk as I found no easy way of getting my favorites from Chrome to be my favorites in Edge- No copy/paste or move as you can in both FF and Chrome, but at least I have them in Edge now. Thanks.

I put in the new limit switch for my furnace yesterday and it didn't work so I had to put the old one back in for now. I don't really understand why but it made the furnace trip the 24v circuit breaker. I emailed the company and they sent me a ups label to send it back for a refund.

That sucks Hitt. Did they have any idea what the problem might be and are they sending another one out? I had part issues when I fixed my ice maker and was upset that it wasn't the right part until I realized that I made an error and transposed two of the numbers for the part and just happened to hit a valid part number.

They are just doing a refund. I ordered another one some place else. What seems weird to me is the package label was for 4lbs via ups and weighs less than a pound. The return label is the same. They didn't offer an explanation. The only thing I can think of is that it somehow had to be shorted even though it's a normally closed thermostat.

I've noticed since I've been off work the last week that my snus usage has dropped considerably. I'm sure it has to do with lower stress levels. The time off has been nice but I'm ready to go back. I haven't been very productive while off. I did get in a few extra workouts in and binge watched a couple shows on Netflix.

Happy belated New Year. I kind of got lost from about Thursday on.

I was feeling pretty good after my Tues. chiro but by Thursday afternoon I was closer to a cripple. I hit the tens unit hard Friday and Saturday morning and got good enough to hop on the bike and visit my sister's and niece's family. She lives in NYC so I had to get there to insure I saw her once this year.

Rest of the last three days was football and working on that laptop. It still runs slow but much better than when I got it and I think moving it from 2 to 8GB memory should make it acceptable. The processor is just to slow for what's thrown at it, but it doesn't get heavily used so I think it should be fine for a couple more years when I'm done.
