Do people need to be fined and imprisoned to make a point relevant??? Because I'll tell you right now that businesses here in America get away with a lot of crap.

Interesting read on China's take about consumable exports to America:
Chinese say U.S. shares blame in food scandal - USATODAY.com

Another point to make about American food safety... what does every label on a can of tuna read? Something about dolphins right?

Hey, why doesn't Taco Bell offer green onions on anything anymore?

But again, this is all irrelevant. It's not about who is worse than who. You're bringing up something from a country that is NOTHING LIKE OURS. They are a different ethnic majority, different culture, different religions, MUCH different population density, and COMMUNIST.

Wow, they had a milk scandal. People got prosecuted. Wow. Oh wait, you mean the government prosecuted the involved parties? So wait some more, doesn't that make the comment "China allows their children to be poisoned" contradictory?

Forget food scandals... America should be prosecuting the president himself for doing some of the things he has done. We should be prosecuting the countless, countless number of corrupt police officers. These people literally get away with murder. And this is all occurring in a democratic country that is much less than a quarter of China's population.

TL;DR Nobody is perfect... especially a country with over 7 billion people. So kindly stop with the country bashing.

I am not country bashing at all. If you recall, the o.p. asked "why all the China bashing" so I posted what I recalled. No one INTENDED to cause mad cow. Business men in China INTENTIONALLY adulterated food products they knew would be fed to small children. The Chinese government had the great sense to execute some off the guilty parties which I think was brilliant. I applaud them for that, I really do.
About half my neighborhoods are Chinese students, many of them very rich Chinese students which is pretty interesting. I'd rather have them as neighbors than Americans because they are far less rude. I attended the university with the second largest East Asian program in North America. I worked in the library for that program for two years. The Asians make some really gorgeous books to look at, even if you can't read a single character of their languages. Lovely volumes. Don't give me crap about county bashing.

As for this county, I think anyone who wants to run for a political office should be made to bust big rocks into little rocks for at least 2 solid years before they are allowed to run. That's a whole separate thread. We'd be better off if we chose our leaders by lottery. Seriously, it couldn't get much worse. We do not live in a democracy here. This county is a plutocracy and pretty much always has been. I don't know how you read into my comments that I am some sort of "U.S.A. is the greatest county in the history of mankind and always will be" lunatic.
You need to chill out.

The world is a vast place, and human history sees ebbs and flows of empires, trade, economies. Populations migrate from one place to another in search of work, an income, a future for their chldren, pushed by misery, famine, industrial revolutions... Money and goods and countries, philosophies and systems, change hands, start wars, fall out of value or favour.

From generation to generation, the details of who has the upper economic hand change. The day before yesterday it was Great Britain, Europe, yesterday it was the US, Korea and Japan... Today it is China, India and Pakistan... Who will it be tomorrow? Does it matter? Not really, because in a generation or two, it will be someone else.

Who remembers that the basics of mathematics are classical Greek and Arabic? That Columbus 'cloned' an Arab-designed sail and thus made it across the Atlantic, where he thought he'd got a cheap trade route to India? That Marco Polo stole Chinese technology? That the American Revolution, when you come down to the absolute basis, was a refusal to pay import taxes? That people in France had to be tricked into planting and eating potatoes, that cheap poisonous plant brought to Europe from South America? That both viruses and medicine spread, and nobody lives in an isolated vacuum...

Individuals and families suffer enormously when they get caught up in economic revolution - I think of the iron smelters, the shipbuilders, the people who had spent their whole working lives in mines or heavy industry and who watched their livelihoods disappear in the 1980s. The peasants who were forced to emigrate because their little farms were swallowed up...the craftsmen displaced by assembly lines...

What has this got to do with the topic? Good question :) Nobody needs to bash anybody. On the micro-economic level, we can just practice fair trade and informed mindfulness. Use our resources wisely and figure out what really counts in our lives.

vape in peace and serenity.

Great post. you could have said more about China being amongst the most advanced and powerful countries on earth for much of it's history.
Most of your post would be lost on 95% of the U.S. population. They can't be bothered to learn our own history, let alone any of the rest of the world's

Very glad to see this issue being exposed here, as I've been shocked at some of the anti-Chinese talk that has been popping up.
Wasn't it New Zealand or Australia that supplied some bacteria-infested milk to China quite recently? Quality control, level of innovation and all the things we are so concerned about ... legitimate Chinese companies have taken these topics to heart long, long ago.

are prison sentences your only yardstick for scandals? who went to jail for the Wall Street implosion? it still happened even if no one did any time........at least china imprisons or executes their criminals: we let them go on doing the same thing over and over......

I think all the wall street thieves should have got as much time as Bernie Madoff.
I've read 4 books on Madoff. I'm reading about Washington Mutual now.
I've got a couple titles on Bear Sterns and Lehman Brothers. I'm looking for a good book on A.I.G.
I have "All The Devils Are Here' as well.

Not to worry, "l'esprit du clocher", or "own-group-ism" knows no borders, either. It's always been "my group good, your group bad".:)

The thing that drives me crazy is that kind of "other-group-cheap-dangerous-creepy-destroying us-taking-our-jobs-and-marrying-our-women" thinking is how wars and genocide get triggered.

I spent several summers in China in the early 1990s, teaching and traveling. It was amazing. Just beautiful, too. I absolutely loved it... except when I made small kids cry (which really embarrassed their parents and I) because of my monstrous appearance and multi-coloured eyes.

PS: I love traveling in the US and Europe, too, BTW...:)

Getting way off topic at this point, but I'm always surprised to find someone still blaming bankers for the housing meltdown. Bill Clinton re-wrote Jimmy Carter's CRA. In that rewrite, he did two important things. 1) He forced banks to lend sub-prime. And 2) He mandated that CRA loans including subprime would be securitized. Being securitized means they can be lumped together and broken down in to derivative formulas. The bankers acted not only within their rights, but also exactly to the letter of Bill Clinton's law. Bill Clinton caused the housing meltdown that sent us in to recession. Clinton left a ticking time bomb... and he left a few guards like Maxine Waters, Pelosi, Boxer, and Barny Frank to guard that bomb so it couldn't be defused.

What all of this has to do with chinese vaping goods is beyond me, but I do encourage you to read about the Community Reinvestment Act - Clinton's rewrite of it - and how that rewrite directly caused what happened in the housing sector.

2 identical ProVaris with identical warranties , identical customer service, identical reputations and identical price.... 1 is made in China and sold by a Chinese vendor with 1 week to your door shipping...the other is American made and sold by an American vendor with 1 week to your door shipping. I'm pretty sure we'd all opt for the American version. Then we could all say how Patriotic we are and start threads to argue who's more Patriotic. "Oh YEAH??? well, well, well I have 24 PROVARIS because the ProVari family needs to eat too!!!" blah blah blah...

I'm already Patriotic. I served this country (America) for many years in some not very safe places. I did that because I chose to, because I wanted to...because I felt it was right. I have no regrets. While I may not agree with the current administration or some policies or some past administrations doesn't really matter...I still love this country. Is that why I own a couple ProVaris? Absolutely not. I own them because they're the ones I wanted. I heard they were the best and everybody said I'd love them. Everybody was right. I've been fortunate to be in a position to get them... I live in a free country. I started a business that has been fairly successful. I'm not rich by any means but I'm not starving either.I'm very grateful for the men and women who went before us and gave us the rights and freedoms to do what we want to do with our hard earned money. Who am I to judge what somebody else does? Nobody. That also means I can buy what I want and from who I want. I have no problem at all with people buying from Fast Tech or anywhere else. I would do it, but I'm not patient enough to wait and I'm convinced all my stuff would be seized at the border or whatever else bad that could happen. That's just how my luck is with things like that. My first mod was a Vamo...made in China...and everything that goes on top of it was made in China too. Did I search for American clearos, cartos, tanks? No. Do I search for them now? No. Do I buy from my local B&M? Not very often...too expensive for me. I get odds and ends there, I bought a $20 mech clone there that copied a Greek mech rather blatantly, but didn't copy logos or serial numbers. Do I think it's wrong to clone those devices? No...and it doesn't seem to upset the original builders very much either. It only upsets the people who choose to get upset about it...seemingly on behalf of the original builder, who again, doesn't seem very upset. I love that people in America have the CHOICE to pay $300 - $1000 + on a mod because they want it and are building a collection. I also love that people buy from Fast Tech because they found a place to buy what they want for what they're willing to spend. Will it last? Who knows...and who cares. It's their choice. I would do it too if they had what I wanted. Hell, maybe they do...I just haven't really looked. I use Chinese cartos in my tanks...why? Because they're the ones I like. I also have an RBA designed by a Russian but built by the Germans...hmmmm...nobody really .....es about that whole deal. They don't ..... about the knock off called The Russian either...why? Because it's really good. It's made in China. 90% of what we vape with is Chinese so why draw the line with where we buy it? Way too many double standards at work here. We're not hurting America by buying vape gear from Fast Tech....because the American vendors are doing the same thing at a greater volume. They get it cheaper...mark it way up. then sell it to us. So what? It's their risk, their investment and their right. So, to answer the OP's question...why the hate? I have no earthly idea....but it makes ECF way more entertaining.

I dont think all Chinese products are crap but I do think most are. I dont have to go into detail about lack of quality they have earned their reputation. Its not people just making up baseless accusations. Clones, copys, and fakes are just a lazy and tasteless way to make a quick buck. It takes no initiative or pride in your craft to copy someone elses design.

Its just a battery tube is a lame argument. Under that theory why eat a T bone when chipped beef is so cheap its all meat. In the end IMO it boils down to values weather you value quality or price.

Umm unless I am mistaken, other than Provari, nearly all of the hardware we use is Chinese made. Innokin, Kanger, Boge, Vision, etc. are all Chinese companies. I would even guess that ALL of the nic base that even the US juice makers use also comes from China.

Oh no, Kung Po Nicotine

LOL

:vapor:

Personally I was raised in a very accepting home of all cultures and all nations, we as Americans need to accept others based on their individual merit, be it a company or and individual.

(Keep in mind I said cultures not politics)!

I have had just as bad American stuff as from other nations and visa versa.

I know I can be very polarized about loyalty to our country, but we are America, and we must maintain all aspects of what it means to be American!

Just my :2c: worth !

I refuse to but a $300 dollar mod from an American or a foreigner as well!
To me the Chinese have the right to earn a living and feed their families as much as we do
and if they sell a reliable car I will buy it immediately, Haters are only good at one thing!

:D

Well said!

Now pass me my Provari ! :vapor:

It's not as much a matter of refusing to buy, lets say a Provari or Fastech, it's the freedom to choose!

There are high quality ANYTHING and it costs, be it American or Imported!
