The vaping thing is a genie that has gotten so far out of the bottle that they probably aren't quite sure exactly what to do.
There are many facets to this and one that I rarely ever hear mentioned as a factor is the international trade issue as part of this whole FDA thing.
The Chinese are not going to let go of all of the money that they are making what with e cigs, accessories and juice and just give up on the situation that easily. I'm pretty sure that they will have their lobbyists in the mix along with everyone else.

What's going on?

The FDA will announce what their plan is for regulating or out-right banning nicotine e-liquid and/or e-cigarettes.

The FDA & Deeming Regulations of E-cigarettes

Ignorant posters will claim this is all fear mongering, but the FDA already imposed a ban on e-cigs a few years ago which was overturned after the fact by a court of law. This was not done in time to prevent many e-cig vendors from going out of business and losing thousands of dollars in supplies. The FDA could easily do the same thing again some time this year.

E-cigs are already banned in several countries and several counties here in the US, with more and more local governments proposing similar laws every month. E-liquid containing nicotine is currently banned in Canada. Ignoring the facts is ignorant.

CASAA is a non-profit, all volunteer organization that was organized by ECF members to be the vapor's advocate. Go to their website to educate yourself and join....it's free.

CASAA - The Consumer Advocates for Smoke-free Alternatives Association

Probably another good place to seek information on the national and local level is right here in the legislation sub-forum:

not so black and white...why does if have to be one side or the other...a lot of you guys seem to make a lot of assumptions about other's comments...I get the sense from some of you that if I'm not terrified of the FDA and don't join "the movement" that my opinion is irrelevant, and that I should "hang" elsewhere...

I'm not into fear-mongering nor am I gonna sit on my ... an watch big government try to strip away my vaping rights...I'm into reason, rational thought...

those who think not much will come of the FDA's restrictions are not evil, ignorant, or an impediment to "the cause"

there's a thousand factors on both sides, ie. the mention a few posts up, China owns us, they've created a new growing market for vaping in the US, u don't think they'll have some influence...each side has many good points, I for one, if pressed to guess, would say there'd be some minor regulations set up on nicotene sales in the next 2 years, beyond that, not sure

They can regulate till they are happy little campers. The E-cigarette movement may wane a little, but it previous history is any teacher, E-cigarettes will become perfectly legal and main stream in the next 15 years or so. This is good news for some, but for others such as myself, 15 years is outside my window of operation. I expect my warranty to be up long before then. So I've stocked up on a few essentials to last me several years.

If nothing happens, I won't have to buy much, if it does, I'm ready...for a while at least. As for up here in Canada, Health Canada has its own policy. Let the FDA make a decision and monitor it for a few years, then look at what is happening in the rest of the world for a few more years, then conduct their own testing because they don't believe anyone anyway. My great-grandchildren should see a result:)
