I do try to avoid it as much as possible

Dr. Schols has that new Kiwi flavored foot powder. You might want to try that.

there are times that tend to say and then think--gets me in trouble now and then.

Then there are those rare times when it gets in up to the ankle before you even know it, and you have to call 911. :( I just hate that!

I'm back. The lights went out at about 9 on Monday and came on about half an hour ago (7 on Friday.) Compared to how some people fared, I consider it an inconvenience.

The most inconvenient parts were dealing with the birds and having to hike down & back up 12 flights of stairs to reach the outside world. But it was worth it -- half a mile north of me there was electricity and at Grand Central there were places to recharge cell phones & iPods. And I was glad to know that I could survive a 4-day blackout without draining all of my batteries.

I also wanted to call again but I didn't want to make you use your batteries!

If I only knew!

The batteries I didn't completely drain were the ones for my e-cigarettes.
If I hadn't recharged my phone yesterday, I would have run out. But reception was wonky down here. I kept breaking up when I was talking to people. Yesterday, when I was uptown I called my sister so we could actually communicate without every other word being "what?"
