We knew the father. DH more than me...he help the father rebuild a go cart engine.

I didn't know the little boy at all but from what I understand he had many health issues....but still sad.

I spent part of yesterday calling people to get them up to the church to help prepare sandwich type stuff and getting people to volunteer to bring in food.

Hopefully this will take some of the pressure off of them.

It was pretty funny! We wanted to see the Imax movie but it was 3 hours long 8-o DH can't sit for that long and not be in pain the rest of the day.

If we lived near Tulsa or OKC I would gain 50lbs in the first month  Our restaurants aren't that good here

Well now there be the silver lining in that!

Voting hell --
(This is not a political post)

My polling place is right across the street. I went at 3:30 to avoid the after-work rush. In a room that would comfortably seat 100, there were about 250 people standing. There are lines for the 5 districts voting there. You sign in at your district and get your paper ballot. Then you go to a "privacy booth" to fill it out. Then to another and, at the third privacy booth you find a pen. (It says to only use the pens provided by the Bored of Elections.) Then you get on line to have your ballot scanned. This line snakes around the room, intersecting with the other lines and confusing everyone. It takes over half an hour to get to the scanner. Why? Because 2 of the 3 scanners are down and they called for a technician a couple of hours ago. When I was fifth in line, the third scanner jammed. One of the guys running it managed to get the jam out and get it running again. I nominate him for a Purple Heart.
