NYC
There are two trains an hour from my Dad's to NYC. The express runs at about quarter of and the local at 12 minutes after the hour.

Tonight I got to the train station despite the monsoon and the electronic signs and the speakers were announcing that the 7:46 train was running about 50 minutes late due to debris on the tracks. We had a helluva storm so that was understandable.

A few minutes later the boards and the loudspeaker said 55 minutes late.

Then they said 60 minutes late.

After that the loudspeaker announcements stopped and the signs said "Good Service 7/26/12"

That's how to handle a problem. Just pretend it didn't exist in the first place.

(The local train, which runs on a different track, arrived at 8:12 as scheduled and we all got on that.)
