Day didn't start well Poe?
Day started mediocre. Got worse.
Phone woke me half an hour before the alarm. Dad. Could I come earlier. Showered & got there 12:40. He fell (again) earlier this week (fortunately not breaking anything) and, because he takes coumadin which is a blood thinner, his entire side and back is a
huge, swollen, completely purple bruise.
My sister & niece arrived around 4:30. Niece is moving to Chicago in 3 weeks so it was good to see her. Other than dinner (and helping Dad get into and out of bed, etc.) the afternoon and evening was spent on taxes. We got everything really organized. My sister sorted papers and found some that were missing. I scanned and logged them. He will mess it all up again by Tuesday but it is all on the computer.
I just missed the 10:41 train so I caught the 11:12 local. I settled in with my ip-od to watch an episode of House. I was aware the man and woman across from me were yelling. Then the man in front of me joined in and he and the other man started yelling at each other. Approximately every 4th word started with "f" and ended with "ing." The conductor came and told them to calm down. They were disturbing the other passengers. They stopped. She left. They started again. She came back and told them that if they didn't stop she'd have to call the police and she really didn't want to get the police involved. They stopped. When they started again, the woman in the seat in front of me stood up and joined in. Then a person I assume was another friend of theirs dragged the guy across from me to the next section of the car to try to calm him down. That's when I felt it was safe to get in the aisle and I bolted for the next car.
I assume the long delay in Riverdale was for the police. The train was due in Grand Central at 12:04 and arrived at 12:28.
