Well the way I figured it if you bought a Reo as a backup it would likely become your primary and price wise coupled with durability it is probably the cheapest mod you can buy. No others could have lived thru what mine have and still look good and work flawlessly.
Get the cheapest you can find,my cheapest mod works as well or better than my most costly one.They are only battery holders,and I've found them all able to hold batteries.
I just read the op opening post he did say mechanical mod. So he obviously doesn't want any electrical wires component etc just a mechanical switch and a battery in a case correct ??
Get yourself a used Screwdriver MK-2 off the classies. I can get one for 25-30 if I wait for the right person to come around. All mechanical and well built. Makes a great back up.
