Has anyone tried the dct map tank from clouds of vapor on their lava tube? If so what are your thoughts?

I have the stainless steel version and that tank looks good on its own, actually it looks too good to be on a LT lol. The weight makes it feel a little odd since the LT is very light, and you might want to actually try dual coils on your LT (if you haven't) before you throw the money down for the tank.

I am curious about how you're cutting these as well. I cut my 4ml DCT yesterday with a wheeled pipe cutter, and it was a PITA. I got a mostly straight cut that was a little on the rough side. The tube was really flexing which made it hard as hell to turn. I also screwed up my measurement and had to cut it twice to get it to fit with the boge's.

I would prefer to not have to cut the tubes myself, but I want a tank that's roughly the same diameter as the lavatube that'll work with boge's. Suggestions?

I mentioned in an earlier post that a straight stainless drip tip inserted in to a Boge and with the same diameter as the carto works flawlessly to extend the barrel length... No muss no fuss fix to use a Boge in a DC tank... Just be careful not to distort the Boge when punching if you have metal caps, can be a PITA to get in if distorted to much...

BTW... J-tanks 3ml fit nicely on the LT...

That's crazy that your 3Ohms flood. I could never get mine to wick properly, I went through about 20 of em, and just ran out. I don't plan on ordering more.

In response to using a SS Barrel DT on a boge...I did that for the first day or two and couldn't stand it. First, it was way too short for my liking. Second, I really have noticed how bad Al or SS tastes. I'm not a huge fan of the metallic lingering taste during vaping.

That J-Tank you're talking about...the 3mL is about the same diameter as the LT? I see the 5.5mL uses boges, but I'm worried that it's too wide. Anyone? NM The 5.5mL is too wide...

That's exactly what my 3.0 do from Volcano. I thought it was just me.

That was the first of my 5 pack and have since gone thru 2 more Volcano 3.0's. As stated the first continually flooded the second I had to add a second hole and it still didn't perform well and currently on the third. These 3.0 carts/Tube Tank refills are the worse I've used and has nothing to do with them being single vs. dual coil carts. The 1.5 that came with the 4ml tube worked fantastic....much better vape/wicking than any of the 3.0's from Volcano. Most at the Volcano forum who responded to my thread either have never tried the 3.0's Volcano sells or are just too new to carts to know better it seems....no disrespect intended but that's my impression.

I was told by the admin at the Volcano forum a new "design" was being shipped to them when I asked why Volcano no longer stocked the 3.0 as I was curious about quality control.......as of now they are still out.

Hmmmm, I just purchased another out of sheer desperation in needing the Kona Coffee and not home. It worked perfectly Saturday afternoon but on Sunday evening it started flooding. So they are still selling them at the kiosk at the mall.

How many of these 3.0 refills have you used and experienced this issue with?? I ordered 1 box thru Volcano (5 refills) and 3 of the 5 have been sub-par IMO with 2 left unused. Online I checked yesterday and out of stock of both the 1.5 dual coil as well as our 3.0 single coil refills. Just a note: I have found NO other vendor that sells 3.0 single coil refills like Volcano sells/sold. My belief is that these were specifically orderd and produced for Volcano but I can't get them to admit it. I am told "you can find them at many places"......not my experience with the 3.0 single coils.

Keeno, I asked the girl at the kiosk what they were, her reaction was kinda odd. At first I thought she was going to answer me then she hesitated and said "I don't know." So I am thinking you are probably correct.

I bet I have been through 2 boxes of the 3.0 and at least 1 1/2 boxes of the 1.5. There are 2 of us until recently my DH recruited a co-worker so I used some for him. Normally the 1.5 works pretty well for clear liquid, I had one 1.5 last about 4 weeks. The 3.0 have never lasted more than 1 day without flooding. But in all fairness I have been using the Kona which definitely has little specs of coffee bean. Both the Kona and the Choconilla Haze will destroy a cart after 1 day.

I finally started ordering Smoke tech from Hoosiers and Smoketek which last a little longer. I am still open to new ideas though.

Smoktech is okay but the holes need to be a tad bigger. I don't want to punch cartos myself for fear of getting shavings in the filler.

Oh I have absolutely nothing against Volcano and like I stated I am hooked on the Kona coffee. Like you though if the liquid is a tad thick, then none of the carts seem to work that well.

I am looking at the Vision Stone and Stardust but have been reading about how much they leak if you don't know what you are doing...lol and I don't.

Please post if you find something that works better.

Actually if you like the tank and are not just wanting more tanks as "uncomfortable" as the idea may be I highly recommend just punching your own tanks. Not difficult at all....you can practice by punching holes in your Volcanoes...lol. As far as tanks I like using smaller ones only because I like to carry a couple and switch out frequently I like these:

Tanks - Mom and Pop Vapor Shop

I don't have alot of experience using different brands of tanks as I'm fairly recently coming from carts and continue to use them but these tanks as well as the Boge 3.0's work well and are very simple to fill/refill...quick, simple and clean...no mess.

Keeno, I do have 2 from Mom and Pops. In fact I am using the large one with 5 layer that Scuba just made special. I love those and they are a breeze to fill. I have a really hard time changing carts, the rubber gaskets are super hard to get off and on.

We are finally going home after a year in Honolulu at the end of the month so I may try making the holes larger once we get home.

I've got a Vision Stone Tank coming in the mail. I'm using the Vision Grande 5ml Tankomizer and it works very good! What I like about them both is there isn't a carto to mess with.:2cool::vapor:

I ordered a LT last night and just read this entire thread...I see a lot of difficulty with the cartos either flooding, or not wicking properly, or LR capping at 3.7V, problems with thick juices etc...so wouldn't a tank without a carto solve most of the issues? Does The Vision Grande tankomizer have these problems? I need to do more research, but I know one thing...Volcano needs to do a recall on the 3.0 ohm setup!

Otherwise, Mom and Pop mini tank seems like a good choice, but again, the carto issue.
I think I'm more confused now then I was 20 minutes ago...

edit: Mom and Pop sold out of both tanks...gee, I wonder why? Haha!

edit, 2/2/12..already got my LT...charging the battery and breaking in the atty with my ego 900mah...nice stainless drip tip! Now its time to decide on a tank...I already have Smoktec 1.7ohm mega cartos but I know they'll vape at 3.7...still gonna be fun!
